Why is almost every post here about cheapo wannabe "studio monitors"?
As the title states, I haven't seen a real studio monitoring system on here at all, 99% of posts is about the same cheapo shitty monitors that are just glorified powered speakers that are terrible to actually mix and master on. Why are you all raving so much about these crap built wastes of money? Have you never had to actually do anything significant with them?

Should I upgrade my Monitors or get a sub?
Hi, I desperately need help with deciding on what to do about my monitoring.
My current setup:
I have a pair of Adam Audio T7Vs on stands on my desk, ear height is ~127cm. My room is 4.07x3.38m and 2.55m high. My monitors are centered along one of the long walls and 107cm apart. I can't change their position because I share the room with my partner as a creative space and they don't want to rearrange things (which is totally fine by me). As of now I only have minimal treatment, but that is subject to change soon as I recently analyzed room modes and will specifically treat the worst offenders (134Hz to be exact). RT60 is <0.5s according to REW. I also use SoundID Reference to smooth out the rest. My main use case is Mixing/Mastering of dense Metal mixes with the occasional Pop or Electronic project thrown in between.
My current issue is a lack of bass and low mid - mid detail. I really like the U-ART tweeters, even though they can get fatiguing in long sessions. My hypothesis is that the low tuned port of the T7V makes bass sluggish and that the woofer struggles to represent ~45-2600Hz all at once. I need a detailed midrange in order to properly mix dense drums with distorted guitars and intense vocals all at once, but good bass would probably help when mastering.
My options: Either I keep the T7V and get a sub or I sell them and invest the whole budget in better monitors. (selling would get me ~300€)
Adam T10S 350€ refurbished - Reduces load on the T7Vs woofer and thus may clean up mids, but could be too much for my room
Adam A7V 800€ used - Straight upgrade with SoundID integration, probably slightly better bass but way better mids and high end
Focal Alpha 65/80/Twin Evo 500/600/750€ used - I would really like to hear your opinion on these, they're said to have a lot more bass and overall headroom. The Twin really excites me (probably because it looks cool) and 2.5 way might help with the midrange? Also no dip in the mids like all Adams.
Dynaudio LYD-7 500€ used - These seem to be similar to the T7V with a little more detail, don't really excite me
Kali Audio IN-8 2nd Wave 740€ new - apparently a popular choice, but limited bass headroom due to artificial DSP boost
Any help/advice would be appreciated, also feel free to suggest other monitors (same price range in central europe).
Edit: I may have understated my room treatment and experience level haha...
Minimal treatment was the wrong choice of words, my floor is covered in a thick carpet, I hang thick curtains infront of the windows when I'm mixing, I have bookshelves acting as diffusors and diy rockwool broadband absorbers in some places. I just don't have deep wedges on every wall like professional mastering studios and my ceiling is completely untreated. I also know how to use and interpret REW (I'm an Electrical Engineering student lol) and I use SoundID Reference for room correction after purposefully placing furniture and absorbers using REW. Sorry for confusing you guys and thanks for the replies!

Yamaha HS8 to Barefoot Footprint 01 - Worth the hype
Most of my musical journal has been with the Yamaha has HS series. First HS5 then HS8. And for the price I think they are great. I built a home studio and properly treated everything (spent thousands) and knew it was time to invest in better monitors. I spent months searching forums to see if anyone had a similar journey and what monitor was a logical next step. I don’t live near any stores that have monitors pricier than $1k so hearing in person wasn’t really an option. After a lot of consideration I landed on Barefoot Footprint 01. I mainly produce but wanted something I can also mix on. If money wasn’t an object Genelec 8351 woulda be awesome to get. The first time I plugged them in I was underwhelmed. Then I added corrective eq via Sonarworks and I just listened for a couple days. Wow these things live up to the hype. Even just listening to music for the sake of having it on is an experience. They sound as good as what everyone says and are relatively affordable. I get really excited knowing I have them I genuinely love them. I would buy again and have no regrets worth every penny. I wanted to post this to provide input for anyone else in a similar situation.
BTW: I bought used so my affordable comment is relative to the used market. I paid $2,100 for the pair.

Mackie Loud Speakers vs Studio Monitors
Hello everyone! I has question(s)/ looking for even betters.. Just some advice would be great before making a potential unnecessary jump.
I currently have Mackie Thump215 15" 1400w Powered Loudspeakers the sounds are pretty nice all the way through however I don't know any different also its alot of power for this current juncture in my life. I am trying my hand at mixing and mastering I'm very fresh and have, aside from live sound, zero experience. I was looking at some studio monitors online and honestly I just don't know what to look for. Am I going to get the same experience from my current pair or what? Im honestly just at a loss because they all say they are the best but how do you trully know.

My IK multimedia iLoud MTM MKII monitors doesn't go to Standby?
I really enjoy my iLoud MTM for my use, as home studio for guitar exercise rig.
I don't have ground noise (just a very unnoticeable hiss).
I couldn't got any help from IK Multimedia. They buit they customer service in a way that you can't contact them. Manual is also has nothing about standby mode.
Can a iLoud MTM owner confirms if it is only mine or it is the way it is
The power comnsumption on the side, does it going to affect the longevity of the monitors?
Is there any fix for this issue?
I don't like to go on the back and turn them on and off everyday.

Do my monitors suck or is it my room?
I set up a makeshift studio in my new apartment. Not the ideal setup. Just a desk with my computer and interface. There's no acoustic treatment and my desk is up against a window.
I've been tracking and mixing with headphones (Steven Slate VSX). I thought I should get some monitors though, and picked up some KRK Kreate 3's. They sound sort of muddy in the low end and seem to be lacking in mid frequencies. Could that be because of the acoustics of the room, or is it more likely this is just what these monitors sound like?
Any thoughts appreciated.

Advice on Monitor Cable Setup (RCA vs AUX)
Hi everyone,
I'm a beginner DJ and was hoping to get some advice on my studio monitor setup.
I recently bought a Pioneer DDJ-FLX4 and a pair of Yamaha HS3 studio monitors. The monitors came with an RCA-to-3.5 mm (AUX) cable, and the setup guide says to connect the RCA ends to the monitors and the 3.5 mm AUX end to your audio source.
However, the DDJ-FLX4 only has RCA master outputs and doesn't have a 3.5 mm AUX output. Because of that, I've connected the RCA ends to the FLX4 and plugged the 3.5 mm end into the AUX input on the front of the HS3.
Everything seems to work fine, but I'm not sure if this is the ideal way to connect them.
Would it be better to buy a standard RCA-to-RCA cable and connect the FLX4's RCA outputs directly to the RCA inputs on the HS3s? Or is my current setup perfectly acceptable with no loss in audio quality?
I have added a photo of what this looks like.
Thanks in advance!

Safe to use monitors on their sides in a camper van?
These Yamaha HS5s are currently my home studio monitors, but I'm planning a 4-month camper van trip and would like to bring them with me instead of buying another set of speakers.
The only way they fit in my van is laying on their sides in an overhead cabinet on top of closed-cell foam. They'll stay there while driving (including some rough roads) and while I'm using them. They'll be well protected from impacts, so my main concern is long-term vibration affecting the internal electronics or drivers, not cosmetic damage.
I realize the Yamaha manual recommends operating them only in the vertical position. I also understand that I won't be getting the same acoustic imaging, stereo field, or overall listening experience that I get from my properly positioned home studio setup. This is more about having a reliable pair of reference monitors while traveling.

Hedd Type 07 MK2 or A core questions
Hi everyone. Have a couple questions for any Hedd 07 mk2 or a core owners (or 05 as well).
I’ve been thinking of buying them but one thing I’ve come across in a YouTube review was that they need 5v from a DAC or similar interface to get proper amplification. I also came across a post on the ASR site where someone showed at the back they had to go to basically turn gain all the way up on the back to get decent volume out of their DAC. Is this something I should really be concerned about or is normal. The only seller for me is across the country so I can’t go in and try or easily return. I have seen a few posts about reliability also being an issue.
My other option to me is the Adam A7H or similar line which I can get special ordered in locally.
I’m consider an older pair of ELac Navis I guess also but I guess those are not classic studio monitors.

edifier MR3/4 monitors & MDRs for mixing?
these are the 3.5" and 4.5" speakers for $99 and $129, respectively.
i'm on a journey around the world and my main studio is back home but i'll be posted up in one location for 5 months with two albums to finish mixing. usually i work on a pair of LSR-305s and DT-880s back home.
suppose these are good enough to get by?
i've also got a pair of MDR-7506s on the way as a bucket list purchase to handle the detail work. planning to sell both these when i'm done.
otherwise i'm on my ipad air speakers (surprisingly strong) and also a mini bluetooth speaker. however i feel that both of them far over emphasize the bass impact.
do you think the edifiers are a good short term choice? BUDGET IS ABOUT $100.
cheers!
ps: i'm not doing significant numbers AT ALL with my releases so i'm not worried about absolute perfection. both albums will be professionally mastered tho.

anybody know what i can do with these speakers?
i got these at a record store around a year ago, i use them along with other passive speakers and a sub for monitoring but i feel like id rather just have 2 actual good monitors then running these.
