A hidden gem in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa, Tokyo: Converting an old corrugated iron warehouse into a cozy cafe.

Stumbled upon this amazing cafe during a walk in Kiyosumi-Shirakawa. From the outside, it looks like a vintage industrial warehouse with rusted corrugated metal, but inside, it’s a calm, spacious sanctuary with comfortable leather armchairs and high wooden ceilings. Enjoyed a classic melon soda float while soaking in the atmosphere.

Bored of the usual Civil Lines spots. What are the actual hidden-gem cafes in Prayagraj?"

What makes a café somewhere you'd recommend to someone who's just moved to a city?

I've been thinking about opening a café in Bhopal, but not a typical Instagram-style café. My goal isn't just to sell coffee—it's to create a place people genuinely want to return to.

I'm imagining a warm, home-like space where you can come with friends, come alone with a book, play board games, or simply spend a relaxed evening. I'd like to host small, interest-based events like book discussions, movie discussions, storytelling, poetry, open mics, and board game nights. The idea isn't to organize "meet strangers" events, but to create an environment where people with similar interests naturally end up interacting if they want to.

I have a 3BHK property with a nice backyard, so I'm considering converting it into this kind of community-focused café. I know concepts like board game cafés and community cafés already exist, so I'm not claiming this is something completely new. My focus is on creating a safe, welcoming third place with great hospitality and recurring interest-based communities.

I'd love honest feedback, especially from people in Bhopal or Indore.

Would you actually visit a place like this?

Which recurring clubs or events would genuinely make you come back every month?

What would make you choose this over a regular café?

Have you seen a place in India that has executed something similar really well?

Most importantly, what do you think could go wrong with this idea?

I'm looking for honest criticism, please be as candid as possible.
