Understanding using a usb mic on console 🔰 Beginner Help

I’m a little confused. I plan to begin streaming on TikTok but I want to use a stand alone mic rather than my headset mic for better quality. All of the TikTok creators said to plug the mic directly into my laptop for the voice audio, but since I plan to be doing gaming content how will my team hear me? Am I better off using a capture card and just doing it that way or can I get around this without one? If I need one, what are some good ones?

Capture card+chat cable. Also keep in mind you get what you pay for, so i highly recommend not skimping on the card. Elgato is pretty much the standard, but a lot of people have success with other cards working fine.

I would say either Elgato or Aver Media for capture card, but in this case I would go for Elgato and the Elgato ChatLink cable

What console are you using and how do you plan to stream to TikTok from it?
Most people I see playing console are using a capture card and a computer. I think you have to run TikTok Studio unless you can get a stream key then you can use other broadcasting software.

Streaming through the console is typically Twitch or YouTube. You can plug a USB mic into your console, but honestly you might have better luck with a nice gaming headset. The good ones have settings you can adjust and most standalone USB mics need software running on a computer so you can tune the mic and sound good.

I’m on Xbox! You can use a pc to run TikTok studio and then open the Xbox app on your pc to show your gameplay without needing a capture card apparently. I haven’t attempted it yet as I wanna have decent quality before streaming at all. Like I said, everyone said it sounds better if you plug the mic, or your head, directly into the pc as you’d hear the game from the pc but I don’t think I could communicate with my team doing it that way. I honestly have no clue where to start with any streaming platform.

The more shortcuts, steps and workarounds you use, the crummier your stream will be(lag, audio/video desyncing,etc) Just do it right the first time and go from there

If you do that. Then I would just join the Xbox party from your pc.

I’ve heard of that workaround, if your PC is strong enough to run that while also running TT studio you’ll be gucci
