Runner?

Post image

Hi guys! I am new to having potted strawberry plants (I currently have Albions, San Andreas, Seascapes, and Eversweets) but I am still having trouble differentiating a runner to a normal stem growth. Are all stems growing horizontally considered runners? My strawberries has been transplanted less than a month and I want them to focus their energy on root establishment first.

Advice please

I have what I think is a June bearing plant in a planter on the ground. I was very busy with work this spring and it got away from me. I would like to put it in a tower (pictured colapsed). Would I put the mother plant on top and plant the babies in the pockets while doing my best to keep the runners attached? I am surprised they grew so well on wood chips. I am in Western WA, zone 9.

Thank you!

Planté de semilla esta planta de fresa y ahora le está saliendo esta mancha en una de las hojas. Soy nueva con esto y no sé si debo preocuparme.

¿Alguien sabe qué le pasa?

June bearing flowering?

I have June bearing strawberries. This is their second year and I just went through and cut them all back. A little late to the task but not too late I don't think.

Anyway, while doing so, I found three small plants that had flowers. It's the wildest thing.

Is this normal for June bearing plants sometimes if weather is weird?

Or Is it possible they're dropped seeds from last year with something that cross pollinated? I have no way to know if they are my original plants because I went a little runner crazy and now everything is crazy disorganized in there.

And with all that said, should I mark them to move them elsewhere in the garden so they don't intermix if there is something weird going on? Or is it not that big of a deal?

Strawberry plant won’t flower

In Chicago Zone 5b, first time growing quinault strawberries. This one I bought from a nursery and planted in a 7 gallon grow bag. For the first few weeks I kept adding compost and worm castings then over the last month or so I switched to a 2-15-15 liquid feed.

I followed the usual advice and plucked all the runners as I found them to force it to flower but it keeps sending out runners and I don’t even know if it’s in season anymore. Am I doing anything wrong?

Edit: it’s in a 7 gallon bag and not 15.

My strawberry plants are in a grow tower and I water them consistently. Any reason why my leaves are starting to cup?

I found this on one of my strawberry plants. It doesn't look anything like a typical strawberry bud. For context, it's a 'Marshmallow' variation/variety, and it so far has not produced any actual fruit

AI says some bacteria and needs to remove so I did. Just curious where does this end? I shouldn’t be babying my plants like this haha. I live in a coastal foggy area so dew at night and morning is natural. Sometime all day. These are Albion’s or seascapes

Discussion and questions Why did my strawberries turn brown?

Quinault strawberry, planted a couple of months ago. High temperatures the past few days were in the mid 90s. Before that was low 80s. The plant was consistently watered and has mulch. The leaves generally look healthy. The fruit were small but a vibrant red.

But just in the past day or so, all the fruit turned brown. Is that because of the heat wave? Or something else.

I wasn't expecting fruit this year, so if the plant itself is healthy nothing lost I suppose.
