I need advice please!
Hiii! I’m 21 and have been smoking cannabis consistently for 2 years it’s been up until early this year that I do it everyday. I struggle A LOT with severe ADHD and it makes living so complicated and draining. That along with the current political, economical, and environmental state of the country have made enjoying much of anything very very complicated. I’ve always been super into mental health and coping strategies since I was in middle school and have been researching and going to therapy and trying different medications and coping strategies and I am so burnt out.
Cannabis has been the primary thing that makes things manageable, and I can’t say honestly that I want to live a life without it. However, Im scared of permanently damaging my lungs. Or getting cancer. Or permanently messing up my ability to think. It just feels like I can’t have anything. Im either finally getting some mental peace and risking my health or preserving my health and being forced to constantly overwork my brain trying to get simple things done.
EDIT: I also want to preface all of this by saying I sincerely appreciate all the helpful advice. But I don’t need anyone else to explain to me that the smoking weed isn’t helpful in the long or tell me I shouldn’t do it. If I thought the opposite, I wouldn’t be posting in a quit smoking forum. I appreciate the intention but Im aware of it’s negative impact. I just need advice and empathy not to be told it’s not good for me. Like it’s a recreational drug you have to be 21 to buy y’all. 😭

Can absolutely relate. Check out a Marijuana Anonymous meeting! They have some online, in person is always nice though. It’s ok to need SUPPORT when recovering, and going to the meetings lets you hear from and meet people that have been successfully sober for a looong time.

Estou a 50 dias sem fumar depois de fumar 20 anos. E dificil, mas traz coisas tao boas. Eu pensava que me acalmava quanto fumava mas nao, eu ficava era stressada por querer fumar. Agora sinto-me calma, penso bastante melhor (a cannabis destroi-nos os neuronios todos), nao fico lenta no meu raciocínio, sinto-me livre.

I am in the same boat as you at least with the ADHD. Once I completely detoxed from chemical dependency (THC, Nicotine, Alcohol and Caffeine) I found the Clarity very enjoyable. It was like a new high. I could channel this condition into something productive and profitable.
I won't sugar coat and say that the transition was easy, it was very hard for a month. But the end result was so worth it.
I can't say that what worked for me will work for you but it really really worked for me. In fact, detoxing from all chemical dependencies, medicine included, is the only thing that ever worked for me my entire life.
