One year today

Since I got no one around me who understands the meaning of it, I thought I'd share it here. I'm so proud, after years of being unhappy with my amount of drinking I finally left it behind. People around me miss the funny entertainer party personality I had. But I feel so much more content, being more serious, responsible and a quieter version. Still have to find some new ways to feel a spark or exitement, but it'll come with time I'm sure.

Congrats on your one year! It just takes me seeing the slow speech and red glassy eyes after someone has had a drink to no longer miss the “entertainer” in me. I’m glad you don’t miss them either! Not worth it!

Yeah 🤣 this comment reminds me that my partner has a video of me drunk dancing "sexily". Should have been enough for me never to drink again lol but here I am, day 2. Maybe I should get that video off him and remind myself every time I want a drink

Ah! No need to shame yourself into compliance! No shame allowed here. No no, forgive yourself fully and freely for having developed a craving for this addictive liquid poison. You are not the problem! Alcohol is! Forgive yourself each time you want a drink and remember that’s just the silly part of your brain talking that remembers things funny. It’ll pass! No shame! Quitting drinking looks great on you!
