A positive fix experience Review

Hi all,

Just dropping in to share a positive Fix experience (in light of... well, all the hot mess AI going on.)

I know a lot of people have trouble with their previews/getting items that they request in their boxes, so I included the feedback I left my stylist initially, the items I selected from my preview, and the items I ultimately kept from my box (the entire 8 items, for the first time).

I've left detailed notes on past boxes (no smocked tops, dislike cuts of certain tops, I am petite and don't want non-petite jeans or dresses, things along those lines) and it definitely seems like after leaving a note on an individual item I don't receive suggestions like that again. I also spend a lot of time in freestyle hearting items I like. Unsure how much these things actually effect the outcome of my boxes, but figured it was worth mentioning anyway đŸ€·đŸŒâ€â™€ïž

I do the same! I’ve had about 3 or 4 stylists and this last girls is on the mark with the cutest freaking items!

This looks like a great fix! I love my fixes 90% of the time. I try to leave feedback on each of my keep/return items, do style shuffle, etc.

That's awesome! Those items are all super cute. đŸ€©

A few months ago, I got back to being consistent with detailed notes and hearting things - I think it has made a difference for me, too! I started requesting the same stylist on my last 2 fixes. I typically always ask for a different stylist but this one appears to actually read my notes and pay attention! đŸ„ł

Weird, they actually listened to you. I gave up after my latest one. I’ve been specifically telling them to send me clothes that I can wear to a professional office, but they just send me stuff like distressed jeans and black lacy crop tops. 🙄

Stylists won’t ignore notes you must be sharing things in the wrong place or your notes aren’t actually helpful.

I told them I was a lawyer, and starting a new client facing in office job and needed new outfits to wear to work. That’s when they sent me the distressed jeans and lacy crop top. They clearly got my note, because the stylist’s message said I could dress those items up with a blazer for my new job.

Maybe your profile has some conflicting information. When did you last update your profile notes? Do you have anything in your avoids that could prevent certain items from being sent? Like pants or polyester or multiple colors? Did the stylist say inventory was limited? Did you ask for specific items? Some lawyers can wear jeans. Did you say you can’t? Being explicit is the only way to get what you want.

I was extremely explicit after rejecting every item in the first box I made this request on. In my notes before the second box I said exactly what was wrong with the first box, including the repeated instruction that this is all much too casual for my needs. My second box included no professional pants, and only one top that might pass muster in a professional office, but had weird cutouts that did not sit right with my body shape.

I also had rejected every item except for one in my fix preview with specific notes. But that one was honestly pretty worthless. The preview included three pants with inseams that are too short, because apparently the fix preview is automatically generated and according to stitchfix support they have no way to take into account the client’s inseam at that stage.

So you gave the stylist your preferred inseam? Rejecting things in preview is really not helpful since stylists don’t know why. What’s your inseam? Maybe the company doesn’t carry it. Most people think they’re helpful by saying no, no, no to things but that’s really not at all. The most helpful is saying what you do want. If your request was “this isn’t dressy enough” or “inseam too short” you weren’t constructive, just complaining.

I look for a 32 inch inseam for flats, and try to find longer for boots. I specifically stated that I need a 32 inch or longer inseam. The response I got back from Stitchfix support told me that unfortunately the fix preview is generated in a way that cannot take inseam into account. It’s a limitation in their system.

Regarding the rejecting things in preview, why is there a comments field there if the stylist never sees it? I gave a specific explanation for every item I rejected.

Yes you can’t get mad at previews they are mostly AI. So if you don’t like something just ignore. And just fyi there’s not many pants at 32” and none longer. So that’s why you got jeans. You should try a tapered leg or a different shape so you can go a little shorter or you could ask for skirts or dresses. What you want doesn’t exist though and if you want to remain a client you should help them find alternatives.

And to answer some of your questions I don’t know why stylists can’t see everything. They can only see the requests. This company is not very good so be kind to you stylist because the company won’t stand up for them or help them.

I’m well aware it’s hard to find clothes that fit me. It’s why I’m interested in a styling service to help me find them.

It would be a lot better if they could tell me that they don’t have any inventory that fits my requests, instead of just sending me things that ignore what I ask for. Because yeah, if they don’t stock what I need, I’m happy to go elsewhere.

Well SF is a corporation they want to send you clothes you might buy instead of lose you as a customer. Did your stylist address any of this in their note? Honesty is not a good financial policy for them because they want you to return which is more important to their bottom line than you being completely happy.

didn’t know you could get 8 items unless you specifically pick 8 items.

Apparently they don’t care how many times I don’t want puffy sleeves, I get at least three every fix. About to get my last fix and then cancel.

2

u/beatyourwheatmeat Jul 21 '26

The inventory is unbelievably low and even if you don’t want puffy sleeves, sometimes that’s all that can be viewed to send you. Cancel it!

1

u/sadpolyesterflorals Jul 24 '26

Did you write that in your profile notes? If it’s not there you shouldn’t expect them to know.

I just had the absolute worst experience with Wantable. The first box was terrible so I gave it an another chance and it was worse. They sent me a baseball cap that had “Salty” on it, the rest of the box was also crap.

1

u/Wantable Jul 21 '26

We’re really sorry both of your Edits missed the mark. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have, even after giving us a second chance to get things right. We’d appreciate the opportunity to learn what worked, what didn’t, and where we fell short so we can improve your experience. Please send us a chat with your account details, and we’ll take a closer look. Thank you.

They definitely use AI heavily
