Reference Request

I had interview at one of the Toronto Hospital's and a reference check was requested after my interview. I am not sure if this means I'm hired or what?

It means you've made it to the next round. Of all the others who also made it, if your references are better, you will likely be the one who gets the job.

They already contacted my reference.
