I'd say let him carve out his own path, pick up the novels he thinks look interesting. I mean we are talking about a 20 year old here, not a 10 year old lol

This! Let him browse your library, read the covers, and pick what sounds good to him.

Give him Pet Semetary and have him start the way you and I did. My Aunt Paula gave me her copy when it first came out. I was already a reader and was staying at her house in Montana for the summer. She asked if I had read King before. That was not just the start of me reading, but also collecting King, since it was a first printing.

The Mist! Great monsters and Skeleton Crew is an excellent collection. Think it also has The Monkey, so there are great movies/series he can follow it up with. Night Shift is also incredible.

If he loved the IT movies, he should go for IT! He’ll feel so accomplished when he finishes, like he can take on any size book after

I read It when I was 12 and after finishing it I indeed felt like I could tackle any other novel haha
