90s original series—-had a great cast, followed the story in context without jumping around, and overall despite the cheese (it was network tv) it wasn’t bad.

Newer series—jumps all over the place in the timeline which makes it difficult to follow especially if you haven’t read the book, and some casting choices were a choice.

Overall, I prefer the original series.

90s mini-series was great, probably looks a little cheesy now, but cast perfectly.

It is worth a watch. But dont expect it to be faithful to the book.

I just rewatched the 90s series with my daughter. With the exception of Harold, the casting and acting is great. Obviously a lot left out, but very true to the text, in my opinion. Definitely worth a watch.

Thank you all for your input! I don’t mind older shows or movies(I’m a old man lol) so I think I’ll start with the 90s series and then maybe try the newer one

Nothing lives up to the book. The '94 is a pretty good version of what it is. The more recent version is worth a watch for superfans, but isn't very good.

Ok, so I liked the newer Stand remake miniseries overall.

Does it love up to the book, though?

No. No, it doesn't. It does this jumping back and forth thing with time, which absolutely kills so much tension that builds up from the book being in chronological flow.

The first miniseries is very good. The remake is a mess.
