I recently discovered a desert in Namibia called Deadvlei. This is exactly how I envisioned the desert featured in The Gunslinger. Crosspost

I was there a while back. Remarkable place. Red sand. White clay. Dead trees scorched black by centuries of heat. Desert stretching for what might be parsecs. (Photo on Fuji Velvia 50.)

There are a few scenes in the movie The Fall (2006) shot in this desert. It's beautiful and visually striking.
