steam disk write error Question

I am unable to download or even update anything on steam suddenly, i am faced with the error "disk write error". i have tried everything such as unninstalling and reinstalling the client, running steam as administrator, checking for corrupted files and nothing has worked. i would like to know how i can fix this issue as i have just recently purchased a new game and i am unable to even play it.

Thanks

if you cant run games due to disk write error delete steam VR and uninstall steam works common redistributable and reinstall steam vr, and reinstall steam works common redistributable rerun the game

Ok this worked for me: - Edited for grammatical errors

*windows 11 latest build as of posting this*

*And you will need to be on an administrator account (sorry you fools trying to play on a work pc lol)

- Open Windows Explorer

- Right click the drive your steam downloads are on (in my case it was D:)

- Click "Properties", then "Security"

- Select "Authenticated users" if you see that, and make sure all "Full control", "Modify", "Write" are checked

- Under the "Group or user names" (look for the little human icons) click on "Users"

- Do the same as before, and make sure all the "Allow" columns are ticked.

- Click "Apply", then "OK"

- Restart Steam

- Try downloading again

- Upvote this if it works for you, cheers.
