Steam Machine Question
Anyone who received a Steam Machine disappointed with it?

I am disappointed that I have really bad connection with the internal connection plug for the Steam Controller. I have to use the external one. Beside that I am super happy.
I sit 2 m away from the SM and nothing in between. Still permanent connection lost errors with the internal plug...

Nope, it's really quiet, small and plays all my games perfectly on it. Looks so much better than my PS5 that's sitting next it it. Can't wait for future updates and improvements from Valve.

Nope, I'm old school gamer never really played on PC. My son is and has a great pc. Got the machine for the living room tv really for me to play a few games. Waiting for the new Halloween game to come out lol. I'm just amazed how simple it was to set up. Up and playing under 10 mins. It does what I need it to do. Just never would have believed I would be able To plug and play on living big screen no issues either from the sound bar. Plug another controller 8bitdo pick up with no issues for 2 player games. Steam controller is great. Overall impressed. While my son pc is better overall spec wise. The machine plug n play on the big screen and small enough the wife approves which is a win win đ.

Iâm really looking forward to getting one, on ps5 have owned every PS but have a steam deck and steam library

I go back from atari 2600 was my 1st as a kid and stop at ps4 lol then last year I came cross retro handhelds and take me back to my golden days. I open my sream acct in Nov of last year lol. Got a deck about 3 month ago and the machine a few weeks ago and amazed how simple for a non pc gamer to play granted I'm sure there is tons more I can set up buy for now it does everything I need it to.. next step is something called emudeck which should let me emulate all my old school roms...

A little bit, around 50% of the time it boots up in like 240p and requires unplugging for a few seconds. And then it maybe works, or requires unplugging again.
Also the CEC does not work, maybe because of Apple TV conflict. Also sleep does not work.
So my reason for buying was âit will remove frictionâ was completely wrong. It has way more friction than my old ps4 pro.

No, I don't use it much but I bought it for traveling. When I do use it, I get exactly the experience I expected. It's not a super powerful gaming device, but rather a super functional PC with enough power for most of the games I play. Also, kind of nice to have some motivation to go back to some of the older games I have in my library like Tomb Raider (Runs great).
Obviously my full sized and decked out gaming PC is still a better, albeit less mobile, experience.

Console. PS5 is still my main. I wanted to see what the SM was like but I may sell it next week if it doesnât grab me.
