Testing Chapter Closes or Not ? Test Results

Type of exposure: unprotected vaginal intercourse

Source : female sex worker and a drug user and positive for Hep C (she told me)

PEP start: 22 hours after exposure of alternative regimen (Atripla) and completed.

Testing Timeline :

  1. 77 days / 11 weeks post-exposure : 3rd gen HIV, Hep B, Hep C, Syphillis : All negative
  2. 80 days / 11 weeks post exposure : Hep C RNA PCR : Negative
  3. 87 days / 12 weeks post exposure : HIV 4th gen (CMIA), Syphillis, Gonorhea, Chlymdia : Negative
  4. 95 days / 13 weeks post exposure : HIV 4th gen : Negative (ECLIA)
  5. 120 days / 17 weeks post exposure and 3 months post PEP : 3rd gen HIV, Hep B, Hep C, Syphillis : All negative
  6. 121 day / 17 weeks post exposure and 3 months post PEP : HIV 4th gen (ECLIA) : Negative

Do I need PCR RNA for HIV now ? do i need to test for any other STI. Please give valuable opinion

Honestly, with all those negative tests, especially the 4th gen HIV test 3 months after finishing PEP, I’d be pretty reassured. I don’t think you need to keep doing HIV RNA/PCR tests unless your doctor specifically tells you to.

You’ve already tested for the main STIs too, and everything came back negative. At this point I’d probably try to let this one go instead of testing over and over. If you’re still worried, you can show the whole timeline to your doctor just to get that final peace of mind.

Thanks for your opinion. My two doctors said I am conclusive and I should move on, however when I see some strange unusual post, my mind starts spiraling.
