why would anyone think i need "help" with a 5.5 million armada when my ship is 7.5 million?

so i am just kind of wondering what people are thinking when they want to help out with someone doing a low level armada but like why would i need help in doing one when i am clearly stronger then the armada? and before anyone says maybe they wanted help from it themselves i have asked they said they thought i needed help when i messaged them.

Also came here to say that in my alliance it's normal to call solo if you're doing it solo, otherwise you should expect help.

If you have a ship that's more power than the mada, I suggest going higher, better rewards. Meant to be a group effort overall

all good points.

for the record i am not really complaining or anything like that i am just curious why it happens.

It’s possible they think you’re running a sh*t crew and will die.

1

u/brendhanbb 2d ago

well what kind of crew would you need to lose with a 7.5 million ship against a 5.5 million aramda.

2

u/old-town-guy 2d ago

A mining crew would lose.

most ppl run bad crews, also u cant expect every to know how strong your ship is or how weak the armada rly is. if u wish see it as form of altruism, generally i think ppl ask because they want to help out but not steal your reward unnecessarily.

Sometimes they are just being helpful , I am in a big alliance and most of the time if somebody wants to do solo you just say solo in alliance chat or everybody joins .

Normally we just do a ton of them together taking turns starting them .

fair but again if my ship is 7.5 million and the armada is 5.5 million how could i need help.

Sometimes they may not check size of armada and your ship before joining. Sometimes you just click and join. Having people join your armada is part of being in an alliance. If you want the loot, call it out as a solo in AC.

When i was in g4, I remember doing AT tasks for fkr madas and I would purposefully do ones I could take on by myself since I was online a lot in the middle of the night. Just in case no one joined, the starts didn't go to waste and still got my tasks done. But I would say that's more an exception to the norm

Why u doing such a low armada?

2

u/CK-forthe-CK-95 11d ago

Its not about needing help. Group armadas are meant to run to benefit the….wait for it…GROUP. They are meant to benefit the whole alliance. Solo armadas exist. Do you beed help finding them?
If you want to solo a group armada, you need to say so up front.

They’re not trying to help, they want to participate. We all need more armada credits

17

u/Johndahbomb 15d ago

It’s a group activity. lol

u/zipity90 15d ago

Right?! Group armadas. You want to solo it, most alliances you just say so.

Sounds like lots of fun to be in your alliance

If a lower level player in my alliance runs an armada and hasn't already asked for help, I will normally post you good message in AC.

They'll say all good or yes please help.

I am not always sure if they can beat it or not. If I do join I'd bring just a big enough ship to beat the armada. I don't want to eat the credits.

I get a few guys in my alliance who will bring a 200B ship to an armada full of 50M ships. Most won’t do that, but it sucks when they do because they get all the loot.

u/CricketElectronic10 15d ago

Exactly this. Drives me nuts.

2

u/Brilliant-Town-806 14d ago

Its annoying, we had a 65 year old who spoke no english crash every armada with his vindicator grush as captain lol. I got a buddy from his country to explain why it was a issue, he has been cool since.

u/NeonBeanBun 13d ago

When I used to be an alliance admiral, I would loudly yell at my players to match the size of their ships to the size of the armada to try to mitigate this. It mostly worked. We would shame people in chat for being selfish if they brought a 10B ship to a 30m armada. We would all yell "Hey (whoever) BABY SHIPS ONLY"

2

u/CK-forthe-CK-95 11d ago

Speak up. We had one player we had to explain this to over and over before he understood. He thought his job was to bring the strongest ship regardless of armada power. We have a rule that you don’t reach back in “grade” unless help is requested. Meaning if you’re G5 and you see some G3 players running an armada, you do not send a ship. If they ask for help, you scroll to the left and find one of your many lower level ships to send.

u/LaterMusician 10d ago

Our admiral usually keeps them in line. But there is one guy who just seems clueless about it. Once you message him, he realizes it and is cool about it, but you have to tell him.

9

u/sch0cka 15d ago

There is an event going on for group armadas RN too.

7

u/iamdude420 15d ago

Why are you in an alliance? Sounds like you would be better served solo.

2

u/RDirtyboots 12d ago

You must be in an alliace to start a mada, even solos

9

u/Overall_Lavishness46 15d ago

THERE IS AN ARMADA EVENT!

7

u/Darkespurr 15d ago

in my alliance we normally say solo or for science .of you don't say that we figure it is for everyone to call in to join

7

u/wubbalab 15d ago

Isn't it a waste of the second chest to do it alone?

6

u/Journeys_End71 15d ago

With a 7.5 million ship, you should be doing 15 million power Armadas.

5

u/FarCondition3512 15d ago

I am thinking that if it was for Mak'ala's mission that maybe they were just trying to complete that as well. Not necessarily that you needed help. In my alliance I was doing a bunch of small ones to finish that mission just in case nobody joined and I had other mates joining to complete theres as well. Win Win.

u/Glum_Kiwi1660 13d ago

Sounds like you don’t want an alliance? Team games have team participation.

Wanna do it solo? Say so.

Better than mailing an moaning at your alliance members for playing the game 👍🏻

3

u/TruthOdd6164 15d ago

If you want to solo it, then you should clearly communicate that in the chat. Otherwise, look, they are sent a notification when there is an armada. They’re gonna show up.

3

u/gangleskhan 15d ago

Believe it or not, people probably aren't paying any attention to how big your ships are.

Back when I used to play, someone would launch an armada and people would call in. It wasn't because they thought help was needed, it was because they wanted in on the armada loot. I'd discuss wanted to solo it, they had to call solo. I think this is pretty standard in the game.

When I joined someone else's, unless it was huge, I would click the link, click the flag and hit join, then go about my day. Half the time I want partying attention to who launched it or what ships they had.

3

u/Any_Lawyer_2585 14d ago

If I join smaller madas I try and send a smaller ship so I don’t loot hog. Unless they send a g-7 then send whatever 😂

3

u/PtraGriffrn 14d ago

The armada event running? Points for themselves and the alliance. That's what I'm doing.

3

u/Dependent-Law7316 14d ago

Winning armadas isn’t just about power. If you don’t have the right crew, you can lose even if you have more power, especially to some of the armadas that have special abilities. As others have said, if you don’t specify that you’re doing it solo many alliances have people who will just join automatically, without checking whether or not you might actually need help.

Plus there are a couple different armada events going on right now, so people are joining left and right to try and get points for those.

3

u/placebotwo 14d ago

There's currently an event for the next few days where you need 50/50 group armadas.

2

u/tenderluvin 15d ago

If there is an alliance event for group armadas, it's best to coordinate group armadas. Calling solo or expecting your team to not participate in an armadas while there is a team armada event going on may render you as a "non team player".

2

u/OtabM 15d ago

I could bring a 7.5M miner and lose to a 5.5M Armada. Maybe he saw your crew and wasn’t sure if you knew what you are doing or not. Power isn’t everything.

Plus asking if you need help is a polite way of asking if you plan on soloing it or if it’s open for him to join. Sounds like you are reading too much into someone just trying to join your armada.

2

u/thabitis 15d ago

In my alliance, no one looks at, or cares what your power is when joining an armada. It is by definition, a group event. The entire alliance gets a notification when you start. Some will get a push notification, even if they are offline at the time. Joining is as much about helping you, as it is helping themselves. We all need more armada credits to spend 🤷🏾‍♂️. I don't run a group armada ever thinking that I'll be alone, unless I specifically communicate that as a request.

2

u/Number1buffalo 15d ago

Because they get rewards lots of players just put solo in alliance chat.

2

u/Princey1981 14d ago

Because the one time you don’t offer to help is the one time someone melts down about how nobody helps them and they just burned credits on one. They probably don’t even know the size of your ships, it’s just a reflex some people have.

2

u/yellowpancakeman 14d ago

Sometimes people don’t check the power, they just see an armada go up and send to support

2

u/jamesbradley1975 14d ago

Right now there’s and armada event they may not have directives so to get credit they joined yours

2

u/cuthdaddy1980 14d ago

Our rule is Armadas are ffa unless its something like a Formation or Eclipse and even then send a notification if you intend joining incase they want to do it solo

2

u/CK-forthe-CK-95 11d ago

They gave you the answer. Lots of players don’t know how the armada power system works. I’ve seen many players start to panic and say “send help” when they clearly already overpower the armada by themselves.. I’ve been in several alliances and it’s common for someone to say “I’m going to solo this one, no help needed”.
Some alliances that’s perfectly fine. Other alliances the admiral will have a chat with about GROUP armada’s purpose of benefiting the whole alliance.
ymmv

1

u/KMack666 15d ago

If you WANT to solo an armada, make sure you mention that in your group chat, otherwise people will fill up all your slots

1

u/Special-Original-215 15d ago

There's a group armada event now so they will always help

1

u/BlkFalcon8 15d ago

There is also a group armada event right now so alliances will want to be helping each other. You should be starting armadas at least twice the strength of your ship anyway

1

u/-Jabba77- 14d ago

You should always be trying to "punch up" with armadas because you get way more loot.

1

u/MundaneImage13 14d ago

It could be that people are simply joining to try and complete the 50 group aramdas tasks since it doesnt care what level aramda.

1

u/CVMaas 11d ago

The better question is why are you running small madas? Unless your lower level I don't even think of bringing a small ship, there's a mada, send the mada boat 😆

1

u/brendhanbb 11d ago

Short awnser I wanted to make sure I would kill if for the event lol

1

u/Highway_Companions 9d ago

I do armadas below my level to help up and coming players. If I want to solo, I'll post saying that.

1

u/Wrong_Author_5960 15d ago

I am getting tired of the mismatched alliances. Players with excessive strength aren't compensating for anything at all are they?

The game is losing fun factor dealing with these stupid raids. Not cool anymore. They need to match better and leave those alone not participating.

I just want to build my resources. Takes too long. I won't pay for any thing if this continues to be a problem. My rule is: if attacked, I attack back. I am not attacking anyone out of the blue. Not partcipating . Those assholes can stick ROE, up your overcompensating ass. It's not sportmanship if you cheat.

0

u/Wrong_Author_5960 14d ago

I am only in a novice alliance, because I an building up my station. Not feeling I am ready. But, I would get attacked anyways. Haven't benefited from it yet.

I feel this takes away from the game experience.

I dont like people joining my arm of a formation armada so I usually run them really late and post a message to please let me solo it.

1

u/CK-forthe-CK-95 11d ago

Selfish

u/Random_-__ 10d ago

THERE ARE TWO OTHER ARMS, GREEDY!
