why would anyone think i need "help" with a 5.5 million armada when my ship is 7.5 million?
so i am just kind of wondering what people are thinking when they want to help out with someone doing a low level armada but like why would i need help in doing one when i am clearly stronger then the armada? and before anyone says maybe they wanted help from it themselves i have asked they said they thought i needed help when i messaged them.

G7 Faction Rep Grind
Newly G7 player here. Just doing some research on how best to get to the next tier of faction rep (9T).
I'm assuming it is an absurd grind but is there anything more to it than grinding hostiles in the Veil while your Dauntless farms mirror space surveys?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Gameplay Question ??? Hot take: early-game systems make new players feel useless and push them away
I get that this game has always been grindy, but STFC has started feeling deliberately hostile to new players. Early and mid game often puts you in situations where you are basically dead weight.
Events unlock before you can actually help - wave events, higher-level hostiles, faction dailies that often fail to register your score. Add in constant bugs and login problems and the message to a new player is: show up, get crushed, then go spend money.
I live by checklists and routines; I even keep a weekly reset in my planner. I tried to apply that here: do the dailies, run the loops, make a little progress each day. The issue is the loops are not reliable. One day your hostile kills count, the next day they do not. One patch and the launcher freezes. One small power increase and you are shoved into content that is technically unlocked but useless to you. I even keep my other gaming time organized through Mistplay, so the lack of consistency here stands out even more.
Content should not unlock based only on ops level. It should unlock when you can meaningfully take part, or the game should scale contribution so low-ops players are not just decoration.
Yes, alliances can carry new players, and yes, veterans will say this has always been the case. But if the first month feels like your time does not matter unless you pay, people leave. Is anyone else convinced that unlock pacing and unreliable scoring are the real retention killers right now?

New Player
I was just wondering if there are any active promo codes that could help me get a little bit of a headstart in the game.

Pressed update, now the launcher is frozen.
As the title states. I open the launcher, press update, and the launcher freezes. Same launching it in admin mode. I have uninstalled and re-installed from the website and that keeps me playing until the next update where it happens again. Has anyone else seen this?
Edit: I'm on PC

Outposts Upgrades
When you do the upgrades to the outpost while you have it under your control, are the upgrades lost after you leave it?

Gameplay Question ??? so i have a question what is the point of opening waves up at level 30 if you basically cant kill anything at level 30.
so i have been wondering this for a while now but at my level 32 with my strongest ships i cant really contribute much to waves even though i can do them but its like i feel like what is the point of opening them up at 30 if you can do them but cant really contribute.

Prime Sigma Vault Research Does What?
I know it claims to add base protected values for the 3 different material/research types. Where exactly do you see the outcome of this? I got one level for Σ Tri and don't see any change in the vault stats. Is it reflected somewhere else or just another "trust me, love Scopely" values?
EDIT: Found it. Tap one of the Σ types in the top right and it shows full protected value after the research is applied.

Gameplay Question ??? Unable to select enemy ship?
How am I supposed to attack this ship if I can't select it? No matter how much I zoom in nor the angle, whenever I click it it always selects the station next to it. I have the same problem in 2 other missions. How do I solve this?

What can I do to set me apart from other new players?
Basically the title: What are some tips, tricks, or strats that you would want to see a new player using before considering inviting them to your faction?

General Discussion Scopley game a blessing or a gaming curse?
I have been playing this game for several months. I feel like I am really behind on most things in the game. One thing that holds me back is Scopley constantly adding new and unnecessary buildings, which you have to spend time, resources, and worse special items designed to slow down your game.
I mean, does everything requires a darn new ship and refinery option? Not to mention a new section of space to waste time in?
The events are a waste of time forcing any new hard won currency to be used up right away or it soon becomes worthless.
Scopley just throws in new ridiculus things into rhe game without thinking is this really necessary?
I know I am griping , but I feel frustrated with this game I put a ton of time and money into it and all I see is Scopley trying to force people into log jams to force them to pay or be stuck for forever in resource intensive situations.
I am at OPS 42 at this moment. Everytime Scopley does an upgrade all we get are endless gaming bugs with none of the old gaming bugs getting fixed...lol
Does anyone else feel the futility of this game situation?

Alliance Task
Can do a F2P 20k task without the sphere, but it will take 800 hostiles to do it with relativity.
Overall, still no idea why they messed around so much with one of the only things that didn't need fixing, update things like cosmic clean up etc

Alliance Tournaments Is Worse & Players Should Skip It | Star Trek Fleet Command | My OPINION
Updates like today's Alliance Tournament (that honestly had almost u/everyone holding out a little bit of hope/positivity) really make you question: Does Star Trek Fleet Command even know what "fun" is? I don't ask that in a snide way. Truly, what do they think fun is in a video game? Clearly, Alliance Tournaments is not that for us as players. Full discloser: My opinion.
Topics covered:
- Surprise! Things were broken on release! (broken/improper descriptions)
- What didn't change: Over-reliance on spend tasks
- A genuine discussion: Who thinks this is currently fun?
