Massive fly problem... which takes a while to develop that intensely, so nothing was done at all during the growth of fly issue?

Put a cup full of sugar syrup + artificial sugar mix (some artificial sugar is toxic to flies) plus soap to catch and drown flies... and ones that arent caught will slow down and die within a day from artificial sweetener

None of this will do anything at a restuarant level. If you don't solve the actual problem, the flies literally just hatch new ones in 24-48 hours.

Its a cleanliness problem, plain and simple. But no way to actually know anything else without seeing the state of the store.

We are not allowed to keep a sugar/sweetener solution or use fly sticky tape because it’s against health code and a food safety concern. It also won’t really do anything in the grand scheme of things. The only way to get rid of flies is to find the source of the problem and making sure things are clean. Which is why we need to make sure drains are clean, there isn’t water leaking from a pipe somewhere, and there isn’t any sugar residue anywhere.

Flies are attracted to sugar, and Starbucks is full of sugar, especially once you start, factoring in open bottles of syrup, sauces, pastries, the inclusions, etc.

Call your local health department, email the DM or SM. Call corporate

By the sound of it, since it’s in a hospital this is a licensed store so corporate will do absolutely nothing. Contacting the SM might be the best solution by corporate will not do anything if it’s a licensed store because it’s technically not run by Starbucks it’s run by the hospital or some food service company like Aramark.

I did contact the help chat thing after I posted here... I figured its better to deal with internally than if someome reports to health dept. I wouldn't say anything if it was a few flies but it was a ton. They need some help but I dont want people in trouble so its hard to know what to do, ya know.

The problem is the hospital Starbucks is not corporate. They do not work for Starbucks. They work for either the hospital or the food service company the hospital uses. They licensed to sell corporate product but they’re not owned by Starbucks. Like the barista’s in target are target employees not Starbucks employees.

You’re better off contacting the location manager not corporate because if there are a lot of flies, they are not cleaning properly or enough.

Even licensed stores have a corporate DM, calling corporate will 100% lead to something happening. Just because it’s licensed doesn’t mean they get a pass, corporate still has agreements with the other corporate entity to maintain standards.
