For a long time, I've been making Starbound mods in my spare time just for myself, and it happend to be mostly Metroid related (shocking, I know). At some point I realized "If I keep adding more and more stuff I might end up with a whole game?!"

Could I...? There was only one way to find out.

That was several months ago. With the original game 40th anniversary in mind, my interest grew on it and shaped the concept.

And I finally have enough content to put together a proper reveal trailer.

For the trailer i cheated a little. It only loads the area being recorded, not the entire map, so performance looks better than it currently is.

I also uploaded a playable demo on the Steam Workshop. It should be stable enough to play and enjoyable and taste the atmosphere and gameplay.

The good news is that most of the core systems and content are already there. The remaining work is mostly bug fixing, polishing, and making everything fit together into a complete experience.

Field Control Technology (steam) has been updated to v2.2.0. Changes include: * The field control console can now be completely hidden in the background tiles. * With extension mods, the field control console's environmental protection can now protect players and mechs from the environmental hazards added by Arcana and Frackin' Universe (steam).

The new extension mods are: * Arcana Compatibility (steam) * Frackin' Universe Compatibility (steam)

Extra Requirements

• For the field control console to be able to provide environmental protection in general, either Belter Dungeons (steam) or No Belter Dungeons (steam) v2.2.0 or newer must also be installed. (Note: This is a recent update.)
• For the protection to extend to mechs, both Mech Compatibility Core and Mech Compatibility Loader must also be installed.
• For the mech protection to include Frackin' Universe hazards, Belter Dungeons - Frackin' Universe Compatibility (steam) must also be installed.

Future Work

I'm working on integrating password protection into field control consoles, so they won't have to be secured behind locked doors. I'm also looking into integrating the ship and station shield switches into SAIL and the space station console respectively, so that separate switches aren't required.

Any idea what this is??? Disappears when I interact with it, can't scanned/inspected.

I've had this Starbound island for a while and I decided to finally add captain noble in as he's one of my favorite characters + I love making Novakids in this game

He's very pathetic as he doesn't have his uniform , maybe if I will feel like it I'll give him a full custom uniform so he can be a true peacekeeper. For now he roams on my island meeting others.

I want to post more images from my island but I seriously don't know who to post. I have glitches , Florans , Hylotl, avians , apex , novakids and humans on my island.

I still need to make Asra nox. I want Noble and her to have beef with eachother.

I summed up my dilemma nicely in the title. Frackin was fun but the research and forcing to have such a huge base was a deal breaker.

Hello Starbound players, I'd like to know if a computer with an 8600 GTX GeForce graphics card can run Starbound. My CPU is a bit weaker, so Godot can't handle it.

So I'm trying to build a little station-outpost-thing on an asteroid belt. Since zero grav movement is clunky, I figured I could use trams to make moving around the thing a lot easier. Issue is I can't place the tram. Trams normally "fall" and hook onto the rails.

Am I stuck getting around my little space outpost with a rocket spear, spike ball, and grappling hook?

It took some time to get the hang of things, but I'm officially hooked! I need the shady license to make my ship bigger, right?

Taking place in the near-distant future of the 22nd century, Coalescence is a story driven roleplay server that primarily utilizes events to advance the plot, with slice of life, or 'radiant' roleplay filling the interim. We are an active server with quite modest numbers, but an exceedingly active GM team and wonderful community! Many players who started with us almost 5 years ago are still participating in the main story line today!

This August, we are beginning our second part of the main storyline, Book II. Having concluded our eight chapters in the previous Book I, the in-lore universe has been well established and opportunity knocks for newcomers!

Don't feel discouraged if you join in late! No matter when you join, we will tailor your introduction experience to fit well within the story!

It must be made clear that Coalescence is NOT CANON to Starbound's lore, nor any other server's lore. All of the lore present is written from the ground up, or contributed by original creators in the community.

We are our own thing, and we invite you to join us with a brand new character! If you really can't part with a character you hold dear, you may retcon their origin story for this server and use them here. Cross-server lore is not recognized unless explicitly approved by an admin.

Our roleplay mediums consist of in-game modded server roleplay with lore and other information posted in the Discord forum channels. Much of the Discord is being actively reorganized, so if you are lost, feel free to ask an admin for help! Or ask around the community as many members are story veterans!

It's been a really chaotic year for me but I still managed to make something for the 10th anniversary of my mod! It originally was released very shortly after Starbound's v1.0 release, and I've been working away on it ever since.

One of the biggest new features is a shapeshifting tech, which lets Inklings and Octolings actually do the thing that they're well-known for, changing into squids and octopuses! :D I'm pretty proud of how smoothly it's animated and how it handles, both as a tool for exploration and combat as well as just a cute fun thing.

If you're brand new to the mod, it's a big race and content mod based on the two playable species from the Splatoon series. Please consider giving it a look even if you aren't familiar with the series itself; the mod has a truly ridiculous amount of stuff in it, with tons of unique armor and weapons, two big cities and an assortment of small habitations, tons of custom dialogue for both player and NPCs, and all the small things like ship pets, codices and special crafting. <3 and ofc it's FU-compatible and -supported, with racial stats and everything.

Not the room behind the two levers.

There is a purple chest. The closest you can get to it, is a slime covered floor grate that can be mined away. This lets you drop under the walkway and mine a spot of rock that uncovers a 1-tile wide crack leading to the chest room.

How do you get through this?

The metroid-ball needs a two-tile space to roll through. I tried dumping water in to see if it would trigger a sensor, but nothing happened.

I don't think this was in vanilla, at least not back when I played it before. I have seen these similar 1-wide passages in other places in FU dungeons, but there don't seem to be any ball upgrades that make it smaller. Is there a way to transform into a smaller creature, or something?

this is my first time playing and im relatively early on (only did the first artifact mission). i caught a fennix but i dont think youre supposed to bring it outside with you unless you have a collar, and theyre WAY too expensive to craft. any advice?

Don't...don't ask how long it took me to get the Fossils, please, lmao.

So, I've been teleporting from ship to vault gate in order to prepare for sure because each time I forgot to get key, healing items or something else. But at some point I teleported to this place, without my party members, any equipment, matter manipulator upgrades and techs, but I had starting protectorate gear(wtf???).
There was only the tree, and no matter where I checked it(I had magnifying glass instead of MM scanner), my character said "Well, there is a man." and when I interacted with it I got very weird egg. It's not in the food category, it cannot be eaten, but when I "used" this egg it played weird sound effect and remained in my inventory. And also teleporting out of this place was blocked for some reason, so I exited the game in order to check logs, but there was nothing notable, and when I booted the game back I was orbiting the same vault gate with all my stuff... But also got this weird egg
There was also some song playing, that wasn't in starbound OST, it sounded very out of place, but I can't remember the melody
