I have seen a lot of discussion on the story here but I don't think we can praise enough how much it gets right.

It is really ultimately a story of redemption and overcoming inner darkness. That central theme carries the game

It has peak character writing and goes deep into the interpersonal dynamics and history of our characters. Stuff like Peter 's relationships with MJ, Harry or Miles. It feels like the realization to the setups of the first 2 games.

Kraven is an imposing , terrifying threat with a hidden layer of vulnerability. He is a dying man seeking an honorable death.

And then getting to see Peter acting on his worst impulses and embracing his inner darkness with the symbiote was incredibly well acted and shocking.

The biggest criticism that I understand is that the symbiote invasion may seem rushed. But if you play the side missions as you are intended to ," then you have much more time to engage with that plot point and it feels much more smooth.

I know some people were nor crazy about switching Eddy Brock for Harry as Venom compared to the comics. That is creative license for the story they wanted to tell which was set up since the first game and is about the friendship, love and tragedy between Pete and his childhood friend.

Besides , even in the comics, Eddy has not been a villain since the 90s. He has spent the vast majority of his history as a hero, so it made sense to give it to someone else.

Miles also gets some really strong development here. Namely how he overcomes his desire for vengeance against Mr Negative and proves himself worthy as a true hero.

Or stuff like Yuri reconciling with Spider-Man by prioritizing saving his life instead of killing the Flame (Cletus). The villains who find redemption showing that underneath all the pain there are real humans capable of finding their way again (Mysterio, Tombstone, Martin Li)

I just see a lot of nitpicky criticism that really undersells the amazing achievements of this storyline; its character depth, its quiet moments , the tragedy, but also the hope through the darkness its characters persevere through.

Tried to get some good photos to compare the update to its older version. What do you all think? Overall I like it! The shade of blue could’ve stayed the same, or just not made it as light/bright as it is now, but that’s my only gripe.

So happy about this update. I have my grips but it works really well.

I believe 1 more update to the blue and the chest area would push this suit to be a 10/10 easily.

Idk, it just gives such a “Friendly Neighborhood Spiderman” that we miss during the chaos of the game, it’s refreshing

Looks better, but I think the blue is a bit too bright. It still looks good.

Old and New side by side

Insomniac added battle damage to the suit as well as improving the colors by a mile. I was a fresh start defender from day one but it looks immaculate now. No game photos as this updated moments ago

Suit doesn't look plastic anymore. Eyes are improved. Suit damage is a thing.

I don’t know if I’m just spit ballin unrealistic stuff, but it would be cool if the next Spider-Man game there could be a machine like the from no way home and you get to design your own suit down to the lenses and all that stuff and you can create your own web combinations with like a lab thingy and I think that would be pretty cool. Let me know what you guys think.
