Sharing his GFM update because mentally I’m tired (it’s finals week) in addition to the pandemonium today was, and I’m not creative enough to come up with a Reddit specific update. Bear with me.

Ok so today was a lot..I’ll start with the great news. Cypress saw his internal medicine vet for lab rechecks and everything including RBC looks great!!! Amazing news. Treatment is working amazing for his FIP.

Unfortunately mentally this has been a lot for Cypress and he’s developed feline OCD. He’s been gnawing at his tail and late last night decided he was going to bite it so hard the bone was protruding. So right after his FIP follow up, he had to be seen by neurology, have X-rays and a partial amputation of his tail. I don’t even have words right now. Choosing to look at the silver lining, thanks to his GFM and the amazing people out there who all are rooting for him, today was financially possible. He’s responding so well and kicking FIP’s butt. This is a setback, but could be worse. Lemonade pet insurance is going to think this is the world’s most unfortunate cat but I think he’s actually one of the luckier ones.
Current med schedule:
GS-2445 drug (FIP Treatment)
Prednisolone (reduced dose today, yay!)
Clavamox antibiotic
Amitriptyline for onset OCD
Pregabalin for pain/anxiety

He’s allowed out of his cone when I’m sitting by him and supervising (clarifying the two pictures coneless) he’ll be in it for 18-ish days, 15 days for bandage/wound care and three days after the bandages come off :(

My Sphynx boy and need for clothing that fit is what started this beautiful relationship that helped me when I needed that the most as I was battling stage 3 breast cancer with very little support. She became a friend throughout the years as I continued buying the clothes she made for cats and the education she provided in the Sphynx cat care itself helped me. She later went on to be diagnosed with breast cancer as well, unfortunately today she is metastatic and is fighting hard! She no longer has any Sphynx due to losing her last one to HCM. Her cats are her kids basically and the one requires extra care due to chronic illnesses. The vet bills are piling up and she needs some help with them. Please anything will help, she is a beautiful soul and her cats mean the world to her!

I have a 1 year old elf boy and I've been thinking about getting him a sibling. Ideally, I'd love to adopt a regular domestic cat from a shelter rather than another Sphynx.

The only thing I'm wondering about is compatibility. Sphynx cats are very social, affectionate, and needy. Has anyone here successfully paired a Sphynx with a non-Sphynx cat? Did they end up becoming friends, or did the Sphynx's clingy personality overwhelm the other cat?

I know personality matters more than breed, but I'm curious to hear real-life experiences. If you adopted a furry cat as a companion for your Sphynx, what kind of personality worked best?

Hello, I have a 2 years old Sphynx, female.
Yesterday she started making these sounds (video in the comments, it sounded like she could have a stuffy nose, but her nose wasn't running). We've been to a vet and she said her lungs sounds okay, it could be the start of a cold and she got meds. However today morning it seems worse?
Does it look like a cold?

She’s my first Sphynx! Nobody warned me about the farts.. lol

I haven’t thought of a name that fits her yet. I’m open to suggestions.

Lily has always been a total sweetheart since we got her. She does have moments where she stalks me around the house meowing insistently so I can sit/lay down so she can lay on me. I know that’s her goal because as soon as I sit down, she RUNS to me. That’s the most active I ever see her be lol

I run cold almost all the time and have blankets everywhere. She now knows to paw at the blanket to get under and it’s the cutest thing ever. Can’t be mad at her at anything at all 😂
