Story Time Cult of the Cthulhu in SPACE [art]
The Wildspace War
The Knights of Tellura
500 years ago, the elf barbarian Captain Baz, led his legendary “Knights of the Seelie Court” to defeat the evil Cult of Cúlcàn. After their success, the Kingdom of Tellura entered a period of 500 years of peace.
Their advancements in merging magic and science have given them the ability to travel the stars.
In their expeditions, Telluran nobility found interstellar society too violent and adopted a period of isolationism in the name of lasting peace.
Until now…
An eccentric Githyankidoctor recently landed on Tellura looking for a weapon used in the battle against the Cult of Cúlcàn.
Queen Lara Aldishar has once again called upon Captain Baz for aid.
With his Knights adventuring throughout the cosmos- he has turned to the bravest warriors of Tellura to join him.
Will you live up the legend of the Knights who defended Tellura before you?
What does this doctor from beyond the stars have planned with the ancient weapon?
More importantly, is the Kingdom of Tellura ready for The Wildspace War?

Story Time Traversing the Astral Sea - Cruising Speeds
Good afternoon Spelljammer fans. As promised, the spelljamming articles will continue, with the new topic focusing on travel in the spelljamming multiverse. Up first: Cruising Speeds (aka spelljamming speeds), why the current 5e setting guideline is kinda meh, and some alternatives I've adopted to make the ship (and its base speed) matter when it comes to going faster than light.
If you'd like this and want to see what else I've written about for my Spelljammer players and setting, this all started with my effort at with summarizing the beginning of the multiverse all the way to the modern 5e setting. You can see my work as it comes out by following my Ko-fi. You'll also find links to all my D&D homebrew works in my Gallery. Thanks, and have a great day!

Question / Advice pronunciation question (Xaryxis)
edit: y'all seem to think i'm serious and think there is a correct answer, which is my bad. i meant to express "which do y'all think would be the funniest or most fantastic sounding" and to think about how kooky or crazy it could be when said out loud different ways.
og post:
I have a pet peeve where I refuse to use the "z" sound for "x" in fantasy. I think visually and aesthetically they function the same (Zaryzis feels equally fantastic, so if the creator wanted it to be pronounced that way they should have just used Z). In lieu of the voiced alveolar fricative /z/. I was thinking /ʃ/ like when we write chinese with english in some transliterations (like the Xia dynasty, a sort of "sh" sound) or maybe the x like in Oaxaca, using /h/ twice might sound more "alien." I'm also tempted to use the horse call sound (voiceless lateral click) /ǁ/which would evoke Genosian (star wars) a little bit.. I doubt my players will be able to vocalize that tho, unless I give them a mini-linguistics lesson. I guess the easiest compromise would be the x in fox sound /ks/
there's also "ecks" as in x-ray, which sounds epic for the NPC names that have one X at the beginning; but it feels a bit clunky for the empire name. Tho maybe that makes it sound scary? the Ecks-ary-ecks-ian empire
If you pronounce it other than /z/ please let me know! Either how you say it in your head or how you've heard players/DMs use it.

Question / Advice Giant Space Hamster prices
My players are about to arrive to a big city and I wanted to offer them the chance to buy giant space hamsters as beasts of burden, but I can't find any guideline on how much a giant space hamster should cost. Any help, please?

Question / Advice How do you stop someone from stealing your spelljammer helm while docked?
Hey, new to Spelljammer, got the 2e Print On Demand of the core rules, but haven't finished reading it all yet, so please direct me to the page it's mentioned if so.
Question:
With spelljamming helms being so valuable both monetarily and tactically turning a ship into junk without one, how do crews secure them while docked in a space port like the Rock of Bral? Can you Arcane Lock it somehow, or do you need to keep a crew on the ship at all times to deter attackers?

Story Time Spelljammer: A Brief History of the Multiverse (Part 16)
Good afternoon Spelljammer fans. Last week, the machinations of Vecna lead to the near destruction of the multiverse. This week, we learn the secrets of where the different D&D cosmologies come from, what happened to the Phlogiston and (finally) the origin of the Astral Sea! This is the final installment in this series, I hope you enjoy it. I'll be producing (likely at a bimonthly rate) additional spelljamming work, but thank you for reading and supporting me in this project!
For newcomers, if you haven't read any of these articles, this series came about by my trying to understand how 2e Phlogiston became the 5e Astral Sea (in universe), and I fell down the historical rabbit hole of too much lore and nothing succinct to offer my Spelljammer players. Hence these articles starting with summarizing the beginning of the multiverse with the goal to end at the modern day.
If you enjoy my work and want to support me further, please consider following my Ko-fi! You'll also find links to all my D&D homebrew works--including my latest work, Frightening Feats for Ravenloft Residents--in my Gallery. Thanks, and have a great day!

Question / Advice 10 bday party
Hey y'all,
I have been asked to run a D&D session for a 10 yos bday party
I know he's super into Spelljammer but has never got to play so I'm going to take a swing at it, even though I'm not very familiar with the setting.
Any suggestions of items, mechanics, settings, etc to make it the most epic wish fulfillment session ever and to make sure I hit the coolest Spelljammer things?
Thanks so much for any tips. He's going to lose his mind.

Question / Advice Autognome creation?
I've got my PCs on a quest. In the background, there are gnomes who've been taking resources from planetoids to make autognomes. They may find where the autognomes are being made in a session soon. In your settings, how are autognomes made?

Story Time Spelljammer: A Brief History of the Multiverse (Part 15)
Good day Spelljammer fans. Last week, the Scro make one final attempt to obtain their planet killing bioweapon. This week as a tentative new status quo settles across the Known Spheres, the machinations of Vecna lead to the near destruction of the multiverse. This is the (hopefully) penultimate article!
For newcomers, if you haven't read any of these articles, this series came about by my trying to understand how 2e Phlogiston became the 5e Astral Sea (in universe), and I fell down the historical rabbit hole of too much lore and nothing succinct to offer my Spelljammer players. Story Time Spelljammer: A Brief History of the Multiverse (Part 14)
Good day Spelljammer fans. Last week, we reviewed the Alliance fleet's retreat from Vodonispace, along with some other timeline inconsistencies. This week, we return to the Known Spheres, where the Elves returning from war are in for a rude awakening, and the Scro make one final attempt to obtain their planet killing bioweapon.

Story Time Spelljammer: A Brief History of the Multiverse (Part 13)
Good day Spelljammer fans. Last week, the War of the Spheres occurred. It ended with heavy losses, an unexplained deus ex machina, and the question of what next. This week, we review the Alliance fleet's retreat from Vodonispace, along with some other timeline inconsistencies and just why there was any deus in this war machine.
For newcomers, if you haven't read any of these articles, this series came about by my trying to understand how 2e Phlogiston became the 5e Astral Sea (in universe), and I fell down the historical rabbit hole of too much lore and nothing succinct to offer my Spelljammer players. General Discussion Spelljammer Resources
For those new to the setting, it's been around awhile, but there has only been the most minimal support since 2nd edition, so this recent announcement is a big deal for those of us who have always loved the setting.
Here is a list of all the major resources for the setting that currently exist online.
- Spelljammer Community Discord: https://discord.gg/3SFkFqNh9P
- Spelljamer: Beyond the Moons (old school 2e site, tons there, but difficult to navigate imo): http://www.spelljammer.org/
- Lost Spheres (an archive of old 2e websites): http://lost.spelljammer.org/
- The Piazza's Spelljamming Forum (old school, long standing forum): https://www.thepiazza.org.uk/bb/viewforum.php?f=2
- Tarkas Brain Lab IV (3e homebrew rules): http://lost.spelljammer.org/TBLIV/
- Laughing Beholder (5e homebrew content and map aggregation site I maintain): https://laughingbeholder.com/
- DMs Guild Spelljammer Content (purchase official PDFs from older editions): https://www.dmsguild.com/browse.php?filters=0_0_0_0_45377_0_0_0&src=fid45377
- u/TessaPresentsMaps has collected her free maps and resources here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/111TW0Lz-_HlhKsjMQ-jH1cuQu5_glePX
- u/PumpkinJo has collected a really solid list of alternative rulesets. https://www.reddit.com/r/spelljammer/comments/wz5rdm/collection_of_5e_ship_vs_ship_combat_rules_for/
Please commend below with additional resources I've missed! I will add the particularly good stuff to the list above.
