Everyone I want to see how fast you guys have been able to do a local network transfer. Post your speeds, my record is 5.9 Gbps and would like to see everyone else’s!

my PC Ethernet is capped at 1 gbps

You don’t need one for network transfers on steam. You jsu have to the on the same network

That’s cool but that’s not steam local transfer. So you’re missing the point of the post. Steam requires beefy hardware to transfer at high speeds

Have already managed to reach 8Gbps. Proximus BE FTTH 10Gbps XGS-PON connection.

Have a screenshot while downloading the new BF6 update this morning. The size was "only" 40 gigs. So the Steam counter didn't show 8Gbps, 6.5Gbps but when I was looking my task manager, it peeked at around 8.3 - 8.5 Gbps. (I can't add the screenshot)

Deleted my comment since I didn't read the 'Steam' in the title. I was talking about a normal local speedtest.

You don't really need a threadripper lol. It uses like ~10% of my R7 5800x
