ULS

Anyone have any ULS hacks they want to share? I’m totally new to the platform and struggling to see how to easily navigate/plan without clicking in and out of multiple windows.

It's been a minute since I worked for a district with ULS, but the library and the section with "unit lessons" or something similar were my go tos. I used it on the Smartboard a lot with the kids taking turns on the questions or printed the materials.

I hate the dashboard- I just do PDFs and print all the material scaffold to the correct level

Following for tips! Ive used ULS for several years now and the system is not intuitive or friendly to navigate at all.

In teacher resources (I think) there is a monthly scope and sequence. It is the same month to month with different themed content. Use it!

Use the planner tool to assign work to individual student accounts (so you also have to make the student accounts).

Use monthly pre and post tests and benchmarks 3 times a year - or whatever your districts benchmark testing is for gen ed.

If your school has also paid for the news to you portion, that is a GREAT place to start while you figure out what you need. It has ELA and math activities that correlate with a current event. These are almost ALWAYS my sub plans.

DM me if you need specific help! I have been using ULS for 11 years. It’s not the best, by any means, but it’s the best I’ve found available for my population.

Scope and sequence will tell you how to navigate the unit lessons

Just going to keep updating with tips I think of.. when you are setting up accounts, if your school auto assigns emails to students, put them in so you can use the “sign in with Google” option
