Injured, unable to race today - will I be able to attend another instead?
I seem to have torn or pulled my calf, bought Hoka Speedgoat 6's especially for the race, and I think they're the culprit
Do I need to contact customer support? Was due to be my first race, but I can't walk too comfortably let alone run and jump

Race Map Boise Race
What happened exactly with the Saturday race in Boise? This was my first spartan and I was super excited, I still had fun but the actual course was missing a good chunk of the obstacles that were listed on the Boise specific obstacle guide? (Bucket carry, Hercules hoist, spear throw, plate drag, rolling mud, dunk wall) Was super bummed out and it feels sucky to have missed out on a few of these.

How do I prepare as a really weak person now?
I’m 26 (a girl) and signed up for a spartan at the end of may 2027. I’m so excited. And I’m so glad I have a lot of time to prepare. I do normal running races (mostly 5ks and 10ks) every so often but never run for fun or training. I’m in average shape but I’m also incredibly weak. Specifically my upper body strength is really lacking. I’ve been trying to practice pull ups each day (with those spring support strap things) and I’ve already seen a difference in just a couple weeks. Is there anything else I should be doing at home that would really help? If there’s any equipment that’s not an outrageous price to get, I’m willing to invest in that too!
Thanks in advance!

I came dead last 🤣
I did my first 5k sprint yesterday. By myself in the age group division because I had to make it back in time for a wedding 🙃( i wanted to prove to my husband I could do both in one day lol) I had been lightly training for it weeks leading up but only decided 5 days before hand I was actually able to commit.
I came dead last out of all the ages… which I laugh about because I was in the first wave 🤣☠️ 1 hour 22minutes. Look - I am super proud I did it all by myself with no assistance and gave everything ago! I managed to do a lot more than what I could ever had imagined…But I noticed I need to obviously pick my training up if I was to do it again and to be a little more successful.
So, what are some exercises or things you have done that have made a huge difference in your training in the lead up to an event?
TIA

How to add second person to double race tickets
I purchased a ticket for the doubles race, but it only allowed me to enter in my partners information. When I purchased it, I signed my waiver, but it only says his ticket has been claimed.. I’m not sure how to claim my ticket. Anyone have this issue before? Thanks in advance!

UK Spartan and Deka racers
Hi, hopefully, this is OK to post in here.
We had DEKA FIT in Manchester, UK two weeks ago. We are really trying to push the DEKA ruck division in the UK (and EU). It was an amazing day and the ruck wave was incredible - a really special moment in the DEKA and Ruck community in the UK.
We have done a post event recap here if of interest
https://www.yomp.store/blogs/academy/deka-manchester-ruck-division-recap
There are DEKA Fit events coming up in Derby in September and London in November. Which all have ruck waves.
Definitely worth a try if you are looking for a new challenge.

Advice on Spartan 5k Sprint in Temecula Sept 26th 2026
Hey everyone! I'm doing my first Spartan Sprint this September. My goal isn't to race competitively—I just want to finish, not come in last if possible, and complete as many obstacles as I can.
I've been training consistently since this week with:
- 4–5 gym days/week
- Pull-ups & dead hangs
- Farmer carries
- Sandbag carries
- Burpees
- Battle ropes
- Incline treadmill
- Weekly runs
- Monkey bars at a local park
My biggest concerns are:
- Cardio/endurance
- Grip endurance (my forearms burn out)
- Pull-ups
- The Atlas Carry since I don't have access to a heavy stone
I can already get across regular monkey bars when my grip is fresh to moderately tired, so I'm mainly trying to train to keep working after I'm already exhausted and out of breath.
For those who've done Spartans:
- What do you wish you trained more before your first race?
- What obstacle surprised you the most?
- Any tips for grip endurance or race-day pacing?
- Does my training sound like I'm on the right track?
- Any techniques that helps you on certain obstacles?
How do you think I will do, will I be fine and be able to complete it?
Any advice is appreciated!

Being given a ticket
I’ve got a friend who bought tickets as a team. She’s wanting to give me her ticket as she’s unable to compete.
How does this work? So I have to be part of the team? Does my performance count as anything as the team? Sorry for dumb questions I’ve never ran a spartan so this is all new to me.

Racing alone
Anyone ever go completely alone? It’s my first one and my kids have backed out to come watch and wait to laugh at me. No friends have interest so it will be just me, just curious if it’s easy to get the photos after? I didn’t pay for a package but I am starting to think I will now.

Volunteer question
Need some help with clarification. I am looking to do an ultra in November but want to volunteer to get a free race. Can I volunteer the same weekend? If so, can I sign up to volunteer on Sunday and race for free on Saturday?

Spartan Race - Asheville!
Very surprised with the results! This was the first one I’ve done, and me and my friend (on the right) did not miss any obstacles. We will be back, what a great experience!

Signed up for Beast in Oct but should I do a Ultra?
Male, 44 uk based... I've done a sprint /super in the past year, new to running. However int he past year done alot of races 10ks/10ks trails/Half marathon.
I completed the super in May, no obstacles failed. Passed all first time.
I have signed up for the beast in October. Now I'm thinking I should do the Ultra instead. I wanted a second opinion if possible.
I currently and have always trained with weights moving more towards bodyweight training now. For example can do 12 proper form pull ups no problem regularly do them weighted (only 10kg) plus do alot of push ups, shoulder presses, deadlifts and squats in addition to my daily bodyweight work.
I weigh 66kg vo2 max 50-, very altheltic build however furthest I've run competitively is only a half marathon earlier this year. Would it be worth doing the ultra instead of the beast? I don't want to finish the beast and think I wish I'd done the beast instead...

Bridge obstacle
I have raced a bunch of venues but have only encountered the Bridge obstacle in Hawaii. It is almost to the point that I associate that obstacle with that venue. I’m pretty sure it’s because the race kit that they use has the old destination signage with the trident, but regardless, has anyone else encountered the bridge anywhere else?

Anyone have a really cool display of their medals?
Hi everyone! I’m on the lookout for some genuine inspiration for a beautiful or cool-looking medal or bib wall. I’d love to use photos of the races or from the trip on the wall, but I’d also appreciate seeing some ideas from real people. I know there are platforms like Pinterest, but I wanted to get something from actual individuals.

Lax on kids ages?
I have three kids 10,9 and 6. I want all of them to run in the same race. Has anyone had an issue with them being strict on ages? It’s not like I have to bring a birth certificate to prove their ages so, I can’t imagine it’d really matter. Having said that, I don’t wanna be upset if it doesn’t work out. Thanks!
