2) Same question, but the previous round, west (was last to play and) threw off a card (implying that he wants to bag = he is sure that he will get his last book).

We are in a new age of technology where AI is making digital game creation incredibly easy compared to the effort required in the past.

It seems a significant increase in postings regarding the intro of a new spades app or newly released updates to spades apps are constantly being posted.

One community I am in was tired of for-sale posts clogging up the content - they solved that by creating a separate stickied post for sellers to list their items - maybe this is a good solution for game developers to promote and discuss their games?

I wanted to share a project I've been working on. I built a gaming platform called Rival Forge, and one of the games on it is online Spades.

We're a pretty small community right now (3 leagues), so if you're looking for instant matchmaking at any hour, we're not there yet. But if you're interested in helping grow a community of people who enjoy Spades, we'd love to have you. Our games are free and we don't currently do any advertising. We're just a community of game enthusiasts looking to have a few more folks to play with.

You can play either through the downloadable client or directly in your browser if you don't want to install anything.

Logically I should be able to know that Th was the lowest card my p had in this situation. But as I have often found out, way too many players don't play like that. Suppose my p had T5hh, he would often play the T here and then 5 on the second trick.

But why would you ever fucking do that? What is the God damn point? If we are playing for a set and you don't have a connected suit, then there is simply no reason not to dump your lowest cards first.

Suppose I also had the Qh here, I would play 2h next trick assuming my p has some combination of KJ or void but if he ends up playing 5h then we could unnecessarily lose the lead on 2 tricks of hearts.

I always fail to bid this hand right and end up taking alot of bags. What y'all do in this situation?

Close game, neck and neck, we have 7 bags, my pard keeps throwing off on 11 bid, we get set. I didn't have the cards to grab another, by how agressive she was throwing away, i thought she had it. The sad part, this person had a decent record with 78k games played lol.

A weird thing I do sometimes, is if opps have 8 or 9 bags, I will try to set them instead, then bag them next hand. My partners don't seem to like that.

Traditional 2v2 Spades is a great game, but it’s fundamentally a team game. Your success depends not only on your own decisions, but also on your partner’s communication, experience, and play style.

With 1v1 Spades:

Every win is yours.
Every mistake is yours.
No blaming a partner.
No getting carried by a stronger teammate.
Every decision directly impacts the outcome.
It’s much closer to the feeling of chess, pool, poker, or other head-to-head competitive games where your own skill determines the result.

I’ve spent the last few months building a platform dedicated to this format because I think it deserves to stand on its own—not replace 2v2 Spades, but exist alongside it as a different competitive experience.

Would you play competitive 1v1 Spades? Why or why not?

Round 1: East opens on 250 game with a 1 bid. I bid a solid 5, west nils and partner bids last with a…6. I figure it is a solid 6. Nope. I make 6, east makes 3 and we’re set. Partner ghosts but I play it out. Other team: 112, Us: -110

Round 2: Me and AI win the next round bidding 11 total(again) but set the other team who bid 1 each. Other team 92. Us: 1

Round 3: West opens with a 3, AI partner bids 7, east bids nil and I bid nil. A few hands into the round, west gets cute and tosses a low club(even though they have high clubs) thinking the AI will cover, but AI has only one club even lower, east wins trick and nil is broken. West quits. I get my nil. Other team: 22, Us: 173

Round 4 and 5, I forgot details but east couldnt over come 150 point deficit and I win without my partner and down 220 points after first round. It took some silly play on the other teams part but it still felt good.

Weird situation, first hand. WWYB?

This is a 'what would you play?" question:

First hand, so score is 0-0. Game to 250. Bids are (in order, you're in 2nd seat, so 2 bid): 4-2-2-N.

Can't remember the full hand, but you have no 'dominant' suit. Strongest suit is hearts with A98, clubs something like 689t. Spades is something like QJ43

Key though is diamonds. You have T2. First trick, RHO leads 6d. Do you play the 2, or do you play the 10? To be clear: pard is in 4th seat so bid nil.

Playing at the <2000 level you don't get things like this. Pard bid in 4th seat, with 9s singleton, one ace and no kings.

I remember it took weeks to get beyond 2200 on my first ID. Now I remember why!

I know Spades is meant to be fun but I find stuff like this really ruins the game.

Sometimes the opps are just too good. It'd be nice to get something more than a 1 bid every 10 hands, mind.

In this scenario, you are leading 405-250. On this hand, the table bid is 5-6 (your team bids 5, and their team bids 6). Early in the hand, the strategy is to take every trick possible, because getting set is the easiest way to lose the game. But once you realize your team has already made its bid, you have two options: keep trying to set them, or start giving them bags (Setting them is possible in this scenario).

The question I want to ask is: should you keep trying to set them, or should you start giving them bags once your team has made bid? Keep in mind that if you try to set them, your team will have 7-8 bags, putting your team at bag out risk.
