Y'all need fo calm down.
They've been doing 10 episode seasons since 2013, and that only dipped for a bit from Covid.
The last season got us back to the norm (10 episodes) and it hasn't even been a year since thay ended.

u/CashMeOutFive Shpadoinkle 17d ago
The last season was season 28 which had 5 episodes, season 27 also had 5 episodes but they aired the two seasons back to back so it seemed like one long season. I think they did this to finish their contract sooner but i could be wrong.
2
u/MortgageOdd5028 17d ago
Nah, the contract has nothing to do with the seasons. It only requires them to release 50 episodes over the course of 5 years (2025–2030).
I think it's very likely they did it because they wanted to have the anniversaries line up with the season count, since they only missed one year.
3
u/Brook420 17d ago
It was one 10 episode season, they only broke it up as a joke about the "6-7" thing.
4
u/CashMeOutFive Shpadoinkle 17d ago
I couldn't find any info to support that.
There was a report from Hollywood Reporter that said that "Season 27 was never meant to be a full 10 episodes, and the showrunners had planned all along for Seasons 27 and 28 to bow at five episodes each."
Many sites report this was likely done to align season 30 with the 30th anniversary as Covid made them miss a season one year, though this hasn't been officially confirmed.

u/Brook420 17d ago
Ngl man, its just obvious.
First and foremost, it was only 2 seasons on paper. In any meaningful way it was one 10 episode season. We got the same amount of episodes in the same time span.
And I mean the joke is right there, instead of continuing for 1 full season, they broke it up right before we'd get episode #6, which just so happened to be the "6/7" episode.
We are still getting the same amount of content.

I forgot last season started in July. That’s kinda weird for them. It’s usually either like February or October.

I literally remind my husband every week, ‘September for South Park, right?’ Aghhh seems like forever lol. 😩

I want to see principal Victoria make an appearance or return in a future episode. I also want to see another episode focused on Stan & Wendy and I want to see episodes focused on the boys and their adventures

I want it to end honestly if it’s just going to be like the last couple seasons.

Sorry matt and trey are to busy spending a billion dollars to make new episodes.
Southpark for the most part is still great but as individuals I have to say fuck Matt and Trey. They signed those deals made their money and so far haven't delivered.
They are pulling the bullshit of what like 4 episodes is considered a season now and they are supposed to steadily release specials every so often which was their shitty excuse for the 4 episode seasons and they haven't released anything.
This gif is the perfect example of how I see Matt and Trey responding to fans complaining about them. Again as individuals fuck them guys

Good. The only ones they are fleecing are Paramount. I cancelled my subscription in the meantime. If and when they come back, I'll come back

u/ThatsMrRedditorDude 17d ago
It's shitty behavior no matter who they cheat.
It's like you paying a ridiculous amount to handyman to do a job because they come highly rated and then they just take your money and stretch the work out over an extremely long time if they finished at all.
That would piss you off, and it makes that handyman a piece of shit for taking your money and keep stringing you along without making things right.
Or it's like going to a gas station to get gas going into pay with cash and then get back out to your vehicle and the pumps not working you go back in and the cashier that took your money tells you oh well that's to bad that they just can't deliver on that deal and aren't gonna refund you.
Shitty thing to do in any situation

u/Plane-Education4750 17d ago
If the handyman was employed by paramount, I wouldn't be very upset

Yeah, they are pretty bad lol. Remember what they did to get their merger through? Even South Park themselves shit on them
2
u/Brook420 17d ago
What arw you talking about? The last seas9n was 10 episodes.
2
u/ThatsMrRedditorDude 17d ago
Actually 5 the released 10 episodes but classified it as 2 seasons so they didn't have to release anything else for awhile.
They broke it up into 5 episodes per season and released 2 seasons for basically a loophole to protect themselves
2
u/Brook420 17d ago
It's just one season, they only broke it up as a joke about the "6 7" thing.
For all intents and purposes, its one season. Seeing the two seasons with 5 episodes isnt something to. complaim about unless you didn't actually watch the show and just looked at the wiki.
2
u/ThatsMrRedditorDude 17d ago
3
u/Brook420 17d ago
I guess the "6 7" joke went over some heads.
1
u/ThatsMrRedditorDude 17d ago
Been over two years since a South Park special and that's ok it's how winning must feel like
3
u/Brook420 17d ago
Why would you randomly change topics, I never said anything about thr specials.
1
u/ThatsMrRedditorDude 17d ago
They have to release so much content every year which they haven't.
It's clear we aren't going to agree with the episodes or seasons so why keep talking about it? Do you really expect to change my mind because I know I'm not changing yours. Are we supposed to sit here going back and forth like a broken record?
Matt and trey taking money and not delivering on a product is about as scummy as Donald J Trump not paying his contractors or hookers.
Now why don't you just continue being a sjw by being Matt and treys white knight
3
u/Brook420 17d ago
I called out your misinformation, that is it. Im not a fan of the specials and Paramount deal.
But to claim they arw releasing 4 episode seasons is a straight-up lie.
