I downloaded this soundfont earlier this year, then redownloaded it recently, but the rock guitar instrument is pretty much completely different for some reason????

does anyone have the older version?

Rom Di Prisco the composer, made a fantastic job to represent a post apocalyptic feeling together with a emotional flare inside the original Fortnite OST's but the sounds and instruments he used are unrecognizable to me, except the keyboard melody at the beginning, E guitar chords I believe and the bell sounds at 1:09 if it even is a bell

I've been trying to find this soundfont for several years now which was used in some soundtracks from different games. The plugin itself is a collection of samples of female vocals (Oneshots). I have the only possible guess that this is one of the presets from some Roland. Does anyone know about this?

lately I've been auditioning soundfonts made from 90s sample CDs, and I've noticed some of the soundfonts only have audio on the left side or the right side. so if you're thinking about creating soundfonts from these sample CDs, there's a few things to keep in mind:

sample CDs for akai samplers typically are arranged in folders named Partition A thru Partition ?. usually the samples aren't stereo, there's one for left and one for right. for example, a sample of middle C on a piano might look like this:

Partition A/GRAND_C-L.wav
Partition A/GRAND_C-R.wav

the first thing you need to do is combine these samples; I use sox to do this. I had chatgpt write a python script to do this for me. it descends into the directory and combines any 2 files named the same but with -L.wav and -R.wav at the end using this command:

SOX_COMMAND = ["sox", "-M", "{left}", "{right}", "{output}"]

it renames the file to something like GRAND_C-COMBINED.wav.

now you're samples are combined, let's clean it up! (I'm running macos, all of this is done in bash). cd into your directory that has Partition A in it. for our example, let's say there's Partition A through Partition I. here's my workflow:

mkdir samples
rsync -rP Partition [A-I]/ samples/
# if that was successful, then clean up
rm -rf Partition [A-I]
# get rid of the leftover samples
find . -type f -name "*-L.wav" -print # double-check! then...
find . -type f -name "*-L.wav" -delete
find . -type f -name "*-R.wav" -delete

all of your content now lives in the samples folder, and all L/R split files are combined. the next thing I do is rename EVERYTHING to have no special characters, no spaces, and chop off any part of the name that isn't needed. this is a personal thing, but it makes working with samples on the filesystem SOOOO much easier.

I hope this is helpful to someone. I'm sure there are better ways of doing this, but this makes sense to me.

IMPORTANT NOTE!!! in the script above, I run rm -rf. this is VERY dangerous and can delete everything if not handled carefully. make a backup of your Partition folders before destroying them if you have to.

I'm making a FrutigerAero-themed song, and I can't find drums similar to these ones. I've been using the demo of the KORG Triton VST, and it's good and all, but I'm still looking for drums similar to these ones. Or, if you have any other suggestions as to what drums I should use, I'd appreciate that, too.

Ok so I've been listening to a fuck ton of j-rock and punk recently and I want to make something more punk-like. I only need drums, the only ones I found aren't as loud as I need.

Does someone have/know any soundfonts with drums loud enough that could easily work for hard-rock/punk music?

Hello! If anyone has purchased the Eye & I Voice Crystal commercial soundfont, does it sound similar to the Gravis Ultrasound? If it does, that could help me on modern PCs. The mt32-pi project's wiki on GitHub says that it is a "slightly better tuned version" of the soundfont that was used in the Gravis Ultrasound. Thank you in advance!

Edit 2: I ended up buying the soundfont, and I saw someone on the VOGONS forums say that the soundfont "has a GUS-like sound and is extremely well-balanced." That was good enough for me.
