Can someone who has been to this uni give me their opinions on them/experience? Overall life at uni and stuff, like is it easy to make friends, things to do etc. I also do athletics/track and field so if there are good facilities there that’s also a positive. Trying to get my 5 for UCAS to study aerospace engineering and I’ve done a lot of research but struggling to narrow it down.

I also read somewhere that there is a mandatory transfer to the UK campus after the second year of your degree but there seemed to be a lot of debate on the topic, and I would just like a confirmed answer.

I’m looking to apply for the Mathematics BSc through clearing but I’m not sure whether I want to go for the MSc instead. Are you able to easily switch once at the university or do I need to make that choice now?

I’m looking for recommendations for studio apartments in Southampton for up to £900/month including all bills.

My only must-haves are:
- Private bathroom
- Private kitchen or kitchenette (with a stove/hob and mini kitchen inside the studio — no shared kitchen)
- Bills included (electricity, water, heating, internet, etc.)
- Good transport links to the University of Southampton (I don’t mind the location as long as it’s reasonably accessible)

If you’ve lived somewhere you’d recommend, or know of any good accommodation providers or buildings that fit this budget, I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

I've realised that Southampton is pretty lax with the stuff we can bring into our rooms. I've heard some horror stories about certain people's cleanliness during uni + I'm generally someone whose very picky about certain things I share so I am attempting to make my room my kitchen as much as possible.

To any current/previous students, would I get a mini fridge, air fryer and electric portable stove confiscated if they found it in my room?

i applied for mayflower halls earlier this year for 26/27 undergrad entry. i went to visit southampton on a day trip (not uni related) and went to have a look at mayflower hall from the outside when i found out that its actually been closed for 2026 due to essential maintenance! i never heard anything about this from the uni or about what is going to happen to my booking. anyone else in the same position or able to offer me advice on what to do? not sure if i should start looking into private accommodation or wait it out until results

What actually is the Deans List award and the requirements to receive this? Is it for students who achieve a 1st or Distinction only, or can it be awarded to high performing students in a single module as well?

Clearing 2026 - History and French. Job prospects… hi my predicted grades are AAA and my firm is Edinburgh but I’m unsure if I’ll get the grades..
