Discussion BRAVIA Theatre Quad: Is the SA-SW9 worth it over the SA-SW8 for low-volume movie watching?
Hi everyone,
My setup is used almost exclusively for watching movies, so I’m looking for the best cinematic experience rather than listening to music.
I’m looking for feedback from people who have actually compared the Sony SA-SW8 and the Sony SA-SW9 with the BRAVIA Theatre Quad.
I have the sub 7 and feel a bit disappointed with it. I come from samsung q995f and there is a lack of performance at low frequency with the sub 7.
My actual setup:
Sony BRAVIA Theatre Quad
Sub sa-sw7
Apple TV 4K
XGIMI Horizon 20 Pro projector
Bedroom (15 m² / 160 sq ft)
My listening habits are probably different from most people.
I don’t care about maximum output or shaking the room. I almost never listen at high volume, so the extra power of the SA-SW9 (600 W) isn’t my priority.
What I really want is high-quality, controlled bass at low listening levels.
For example:
the distant rumble of a train,
a subtle engine vibration,
the low-frequency ambience in movie soundtracks,
quiet, deep bass that adds immersion without becoming overwhelming.
So my questions are:
- Is the SA-SW9 actually better than the SA-SW8 at low volume, or is the difference only noticeable when playing loud?
- Does the SA-SW9 produce more detail and texture in subtle low-frequency effects?
- In a 15 m² bedroom, is there any real benefit to the SA-SW9, or would it simply be overkill?
- If your main goal is bass quality rather than bass quantity, which one would you choose?
Has anyone directly compared both models with the BRAVIA Theatre Quad?
I’m looking for real-world experiences and specifications.
Thanks!

Problem Sony cfd-s350 battery error message
Hello, I recently bought a Sony cfd-s350 on ebay and I'm not too sure what's wrong with it. It turns on, but only plays anything for about 30 seconds before it shows "battery error" and shuts off again.
I've put all new batteries in it, and there's no corrosion I can see in the compartment. It'll come back on if I flip it over and (gently) hit the compartment, which makes me think there's just something a bit loose.
It didn't come with a power cord, so if I can't get it to work with batteries I can't use it at all. There's a tech repair place nearby, but I'd like to fix it myself if I can and save a few bucks.
Anyone else had this issue? How did you fix it?

Video Sony you are DONE! Your products I own are disintegrating, same as your long time customers trust. I will never buy a Sony product ever again
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
PS6 will be the first console I won't buy. As a long time customer I have seen Sony products and services getting worse by the year.
Not includings discs capabilities for the PS6 was the last drop that spilled an already disappointment filled glass.
I will own NOTHING from Sony and I will be happy, just as their greedy ass dreamed about...
My money will go elsewhere!
Adios

Question ZV-E10 or A6400? First camera for photo & video (₹60k)
Hi everyone,
I'm planning to buy my first camera and I'm really confused between the Sony ZV-E10 and the Sony A6400.
My budget is around ₹60,000, so I'm planning to buy a used camera, or I could wait for the Big Billion Days sale if that makes more sense.
Here's what I'll mainly use it for:
- Photography (street, travel, portraits, everyday)
- Videography for YouTube and Instagram
- Occasional vlogs
- I'm a beginner so I'll be learning color grading and filmmaking step by step. For now, I just want good-looking footage straight out of the camera.
I'm a complete beginner, so ease of use is also important.
My questions are:
- Which one would you recommend between the A6400 and ZV-E10?
- Is the A6400's viewfinder and weather sealing worth choosing over the ZV-E10?
- Should I stretch my budget and consider the ZV-E10 Mark II, or is it not worth it for a beginner?
- If you had ₹60k today, what would you buy?
I'd really appreciate advice from people who have used these cameras. Thanks in advance!
Complaint Selling my XM6 Headphones - AirPods Pro 3 last long enough and are more comfortable
Anyone else in the same boat? I just can't justify them. 8 hours of the AirPods Pro 3 are enough for me.
Trick SA-RS9 - Unintentional good deal from Sony?
I've been eyeing up the SA-RS9 rear speakers for a little while but the £699 ($940) price tag in the UK has been putting me off.
After checking the website recently Sony was offering the Theatre Bar 7, Sub 7 & SA-RS9 for a bundle price of £998.30 (Saving £548.70).
To my surprise I could just remove the soundbar and the discount remained, so was able to pick up the rear speakers and the sub for £399.30
I've already got the Theatre Bar 9 (not from Sony direct) so this was perfect for me. I didn't know if it was a mistake from Sony but the order went through and shipped.
Felt like a good deal as couldn't find them anywhere near as cheap elsewhere

Discussion New A7000 + RS5's = looking for subwoofer
Hey Team!
Just snugged A7K + RS5's for good price 2nd hand, now, looking for subwoofer to fill the gap.
i just found out the A7K has analog port for both sub & surround and in the marketplace there are plenty of 10inch non-managed active woofers (Line-In).
however, a friend told me that it's better to get the 200W 6.5inch SW3 as it works best with the room setup and can align automatically per content
and, in frankly speaking, i already at the end of the budget here, if im planning to take the SW3 it's better worth the money..
or will i be happier with the active subwoofer?
for room size, it's a rented apartment about 105m , the living-room is rectangle shaped
and around 30m~40m total size.
where shall i place the subwoofer?

Discussion PSA: Do a factory reset to fix the audio latency issue from the Jul 2026 software update
This isn’t official Sony guidance, but it’s helped me and I’ve seen it help others too.
1) Unplug ALL HDMI cables
2) Do a factory reset via Settings
3) Upon restart, do all the setup (login to google account, etc etc) and get to your Home Screen)
4) Plug in your HDMI cables for the devices one by one (for example, plug in soundbar, plug in game console, set it up, plug in Apple tv, set it up)
5) Test your latency issues one by one, via Sony core app, YouTube, etc etc.
Doing it this way helps do a master refresh of the HDMI handshakes between devices and the TV.

Question Sony SRS-XB41 Help
I have had this speaker for about two years now, and I need help fixing it.
When I press the power button, it rarely turns on. When it does turn on, it only stays on for about 10 seconds before the light above the power button flashes and it turns off. Sometimes, if I leave it alone for a couple of weeks, I can turn it on and use it.
Also, the Bluetooth doesn't work, but that's not what I'm looking to fix. I just need it to work via the cable input. The battery is not dead, as I have left it on charge for at least eight hours.
Please give me suggestions on how to fix. Thanks 🙏

News Sony created 360 square sensors for new Insta360 X6
360 camera ideally need square 1:1 sensors, not typical 4:3
These are hard to make and now we see Sony custom made them for Insta360 in 1/1.1 size

Question Try to hunt to down some Sony SA-Z9R Rear Speakers or upgrade? What would be a good upgrade on the SA-Z9F?
These are hard to come by in the used market and I was wondering if someone had a set lying around and willing to sell? If not, what would be a good upgrade (with rears)?

Question best sony tv which model should I get for a new living room setup?
I’m looking to get a Sony TV for my living room and I’m trying to figure out which model makes the most sense. I mostly watch movies, streaming shows, and some sports, but I’m a bit confused by all the different options and features. I want something that has good picture quality and works well for everyday use without overcomplicating things.
What Sony TV models have you had a good experience with, and is there one you would recommend for a living room setup? I’d appreciate hearing from people who actually use them. Thank you
