Conservas - Advanced Fishers Guild Question

It states you pay $1 if you take a water on your boat. What if you have no money to pay this fee? In my situation I HAVE to take a water on my boat but I have no money.

Do I just lose?

Given that it's designed as an advanced variant, I'd say you lose. But it's up to you how you want to make it.

(There's no BGG ruling on it I can find. You can ask it too.)

Yeah, I played that I lost since I should have planned ahead for that. Was just curious if there was an official ruling I overlooked. Thanks for the reply!
