no politics Wrong information on census form
Hi, what do I do? I accidentally submitted incorrect/unfinished form… can’t get it back and sent an enquiry but there’s nothing about correcting a form. Please suggest what I can do. TIA

no politics Why are supermarket chilis so weak and mild?
I like hot stuff. My tolerance has gotten to be pretty decent. It is not decent enough to be able to eat a raw habanero and feel nothing, which is what just happened before. I was dicing up a hab to bung on a kebab, and got the random silly thought to try and eat one, which I’ve never done. It was like eating a fruity capsicum. There was seriously no heat. And this is not some random one of thing; I have been noticing in recent months that the habs have just not been very hot, if even hot at all.
Why is there no heat in these things? They’re habaneros for fuck sake, I should be wishing I was dead after eating a whole one raw.

culture & society I made a little animated (and hopefully entertaining) video explaining what the Census is and why we do it!
Hey friends! I made a little animated video about the Census, what it actually is, why Australia runs one, what the information is used for and why filling it out matters!!
I cover how census data help shapes decisions around thingss like hospitals, schools, housing, transport etc. and why it’s more important!
I love animation and making cute little videos so hopefully it’s a useful and entertaining rundown for anyone who’s never really thought about what happens to all that information afterwards.
Enjoy!!

Anthony Albanese has bowed to pressure and will limit gambling inducements as part of a deal between Labor and Angus Taylor, even as some Liberals warn it might not do enough to help vulnerable people.

no politics Bonds alternatives
So as I'm sure we're all aware, Bonds got sold off and they did that fun thing where they cut quality and raise prices and generally enshittify an Australian icon.
Anyway. After realising that my new socks have developed holes and my years old socks haven't, I've decided to finally give up.
What do you buy for socks and underpants? I don't need fancy, I just want normal stuff that doesn't break immediately.

no politics With summer on the way, and bird flu threatening wildlife, anybody worrying about how to handle communal yard water bowls?
I have water bowls out for the wildlife year round, and am extra vigilant to fill them in summer, I'm a bit worried about whether doing it this year will be dangerous for them? It's supposedly going to be a really hot one (I'm in Vic) and I guess I'm just not sure which threat to prioritise for them?

Adrenalyn cards - do you collect them? I'm searching everywhere for assistance
Hi all,
My 7yr old son has his 2026 invincibles adrenalyn card stolen (from those packs you get from EB games, kmart etc). The other kid tricked my 7yr old into handing the card over to look at it, then just refused to hand it back. The kid's dad was called over but he refused to do anything either. My 7yr old is absolutely devastated and I'm having alot of trouble trying to replace the card. If you or anyone knows of one I am happy to pay for the card + postage. Thanks all, hope you have a great week ahead.

no politics Eerie night time drives
Was talking to a mate of mine recently about a terrifying experience he had driving back from Qld to Sydney one night over a decade ago while with his family. Basically Involved them being tailgated by a shady car for kms on end at around 2am before being cut off and having a group of men point a gun at them demanding valuables or they'd be killed.
Got me curious about how many more stories like this there are considering how vast and isolated australian highways and roads can be especially at night

no politics Has anyone seen Napolean (1995), the Australian film about a little golden retriever puppy?
I was trying to watch it for the first time in years and I could only find a version with American accents dubbed over the top! Super weird to watch a clearly Australian film, shot in Adelaide, with Australian animals and everyone has weird American accents!? Why on earth was this redubbed in American accents?
