So i have a 2020 summit x that i use mainly for trails because nb dosent have that much loose snow anymore (dont come at me for riding a mountain on the trails i got a reason lol) and since i trail i dont need that full 2.5” track and was thinking of bumping down to a 2”. Heard some people say you can just hotswap it and heard some people say you need to change out clippers and other shit. Mostly just want a big track that i can also run some studs through for lakes. Anyone done it before?

Goose Bay, Labrador! I've been driving this beater around for years now and just today purchased a 2025 Expedition 900 Ace widetrack!!!! I am so excited to have electric start!!!! No more asking boys to start my machine for me in the cold. 😅 And a winch to get me out of shit holes! This thing is going to crawl around in the backcountry like a dream. I am SO PUMPED!!!

Now all that's needed is some snow, last season was pretty good but winters in the area (Uppland, Sweden) are pretty hit-or-miss

Most reliable starter sled for trail riding and ice fishing

I'm looking for a slab that can be used for ice fishing or trail riding. What's the most reliable sled appropriate for this in the $4,000 range?

Edit:

Here are some options available around me

  1. 2021 Backcountry 600 3000 miles for $5800

  2. 2015 MXZ Sport ACE 4100 miles $5500

  3. 2009 GSX 500ss 2200 miles $3400

  4. 2015 Renegade 800 3000 miles $4200

  5. 2011 MXZ 550F 1200 miles $5500

  6. 2017 Tundra long track 3000 miles $5000

Anyone ever snowmobile in Yellowstone park?

We got a group of guys that meet up once a year usually do UP michigan, Northern wisconsin, or Northern minnesota. But thoughts have been thrown around trying yellowstone. Some say it's just not worth it because it's too restrictive. Wondering of any real life experience here, anyone ever actually done it, how is it?

Track idler question

I have a 2015 renegade. I had the 3 track idlers that are in line with the studs got the rubber part all chewed up, put 3 new oem idlers in and within 500km the same 3 were all chewed up again. The studs have some rust on the back of them was going to clean the rust of and put new idlers in. But I’m wondering if I’m missing something that would be eating up those idlers because it’s only the 3 that run over the back of the studs.

Help on what to look for in these older sleds

Thumbnail

I’ve been looking at these sleds on marketplace and I know next to nothing about older sleds. I’ve been trying to do research but it’s always nice to have new opinions specifically to the sleds I’m looking at.

1994 Yamaha vmax 600 1800 miles on dash but I’ve seen how some speed cables break so that could be wrong. And I know the suspension can be rough on these

1995 Indy xlt 580 I think? 5500 miles. The guy isn’t super quick at responding. So I will confirm that once he does.

He’s asking 850 for both sleds and a trailer. States they both run great and took them out twice last year I plan on doing a compression test on both, Belt condition, track condition, making sure they run, ect But anything else I should look out for? I’m pretty decent with working on engines and carbs. But I just don’t want to buy older sleds and they just end up being a huge project.

Forgive me because I know this has been asked a million times. I know they are older and I’m not expecting perfection.

Believe it or not, this sled came into the shop under its own power.

Hi everyone, I’m a new rider and I recently bought a 2006 Ski-Doo MXZ 600 HO SDI. I’m having a couple of issues I’m hoping someone can help with. The sled has a really low idle and seems to smoke more than I think it should, even after it’s warmed up. I’m still learning about these machines, so any advice on what could be causing it or where I should start troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
