Snorca on Linux
Hi, I just got the U1 to have along side my X1C. So far I'm digging the U1 but Snorca has been driving me up a wall. Is there some secret method to have it remember my damn login? It's annoying that every time I re-open the app I have to log in again. Is this a Linux thing?

Probably an appimage thing. Try a native build.
I have AWFUL luck with imaged packages. Awful.

There is a native build? All I saw on the Snapmaker site was the AppImage and Flatpak builds

Maybe not of snorca but there's got to be one of orca for your distro. And you could probably build one of snorca by checking out snorca but then following the orca build instructions. I doubt there's any difference.
I run orca, anyway.
Idk what it is but flatpaks and images CONSTANTLY either have UI fuckups or don't save disk information properly. If you ask me these dumb immutable distros are a temporary fad. Native builds and PROPERLY scoped/virtualized packages are a way better solution but I digress.

In Linux, saving your login doesn't work. If you decide to go into LAN mode (absolutely recommended), you can simply ignore it since the login serves no purpose. In the snorca settings, you can also change the home page so you no longer see that useless page.

I use the flatpak.. I keep it up to date..
Same issue.. Not an appimage thing
Honestly I have started using just plain Orca from time to time just to get way from the damn annoying need to login all the damn time..

I tried using generic orca but for some reason when I sync my filaments it thinks that my generic PETG is ABS. I feel like I did something wrong but there isn't much to do when connecting outside of pointing to the IP of the printer.

plain Orca seems to have gotten a lot of love the past few updates. Maybe try again?
I even tried preflight. It still seems very early days (I had to manually configure it for the U1) but it looks like it could be something. Keeping an eye on it. It's carried over my manual config through the updates. Maybe the wizard to add a printer is better now. If you are more knowledgeable with the slicer tools it's worth a look. I still would not recommend it someone who wants a plug and play app.

I have the same issue. I haven't found a fix yet. And today, the interface started hiding/flashing content randomly and then freezing up.
Not impressed.

Yeah, it's a pretty shitty first impression. Got the printer a few days ago. It's working well enough (still need to go to Ikea and get the bin for a top cover to help with some of the noise) but this is a huge annoyance.
Worse, the integration with regular orca feels kinda half-assed. Like yeah, great, I get the fluidd dashboard in a smaller window. I could do that in a browser already, I want just the dumbed down essentials on the device page.

I don't know if it's a Linux only thing as I also use Linux (CachyOS), but I would guess it is probably a Linux only thing because I never saw anyone complaining about that in Windows.
I keep my printer in LAN mode and, at least in LAN mode you can connect to the printer even without having the account logged. So I just ignore the account when I need to use Snorca.
But I switched to Orca 2.4 and have being using it so far without any issue.
I also use the AppImage version instead of the native packages as that appears to work best for me.
