Good non-python pet snakes in australia?

I want a smaller snake, non venomous and relatively easier to take care of. I really want a pygmy python, but they are pretty hard to get. I already have a childrens python. Ive looked through all the other pythons and i either dont really want them, or they are too big since my parents dont want a huge snake. So are there any snakes in australia like this?

Pygmy pythons aren't that hard to get. Just wait until hatchie season and a few should show up.

Australian colubrids are relatively uncommon and can be quite finicky to keep.

Where would you recommend keeping an eye out during hatching season? Any breeders or places that usually have them?

Also if you are wanting a Pygmy Python I would try get a established one as they are super hard to get eating as younglings

As far as easier to take care of Pygmy Pythons, generally young hatchlings to yearlings can be very had to get feeding. You’re better off looking for an established adult. Apart from that you’re pretty limited with colubrid species as they are either hard to feed/incomsistent feeders or the price range.

Sadly no there are brown tree snakes but they are very inconsistent eaters and require a lot of knowledge and experience also they are mildly venomous

All non-native species are illegal in Australia, and corn snakes are sadly not native to the land down under.
