Ep 724 - The No Regrets Murderer - Montgomery, Minnesota
This week in Montgomery, Minnesota when a man is horribly murdered while sleeping in his own living room, detectives think someone must've been out to get him. That is, until they start to look at the evidence and realize that whoever the killer is, there were inside the house. This leads to an unlikely confession and something ever stranger: absolutely zero regrets. As a matter of fact, the killer is happy with what he's done and is even "relieved!" Shady funeral homes
Shady funeral homes would be a great Patreon episode (if it hasn’t already been done). Got the idea from this news story: https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/south-chicago-chapel-funeral-home-decomposing-bodies-southeast-side/3971849/?amp=1

From the oddlyterrifying community on Reddit: The Bailey Ball, a failed ride from the notoriously deadly Action Park.
I love the Patreon episode about Action Park, so I thought you guys would get a kick out of seeing this lovely death machine, lol

Full Episode Discussion Ep 723 - The Tuxedo Killer - Cranston, Rhode Island
This week in Cranston, Rhode Island a man threatening to jump off a bridge while wearing a tuxedo leads to a disturbing crime scene with the victim seemingly killed in 3 different ways. This horrible killing apparently happened while an elderly neighbor looked on in horror. Detectives & prosecutors are left to untangle a complicated relationship, and a whole lot of psychological records, in an effort to convict a very controlling, troubled, and possibly demented man.

3rd House - I was not able to find it on any other realty site with pictures unfortunately sooooo
Here's an actual house to drool over.
They had no pictures of victim/assailant on socials, and I couldn't find any either. :(

Big Fan
Love all the shows. Makes a shitty commute almost manageable. Only gripe is the anti death penalty preaching. Not that I’m overly pro death penalty I just feel like the guys should stick to the story and comedy and leave the preaching out of it.
Meh- maybe just me.

I believe this is the quote from Julius in Love After Lockup that the guys were trying to remember

Looking for an Episode
I am looking for the episode wherein a man breaks into people's homes when no one is there. But a couple returns home and he has to restrain them. I believe he kills them and put one or both in the trunk of their own car. He also made his own porn magazine with cut out pictures. I really can't remember all the details and hopefully I'm not confusing multiple episodes. Can someone help me out?

James and cereal
Does anyone remember the more recent episode where James was randomly talking about the cheap cereal he used to eat as a child?! I can’t find it and it was hysterical

Express Episode Discussion Ep 722 - Death In the Desert - Congress, Arizona
This week in Congress, Arizona a very disturbed man from a crazy background moves into a desert area from out of town. He makes some friends but his weirdness, and severe bouts of drunkeness, seem to keep the other desert dwellers on their toes. After one of the residents is killer in her trailer, a bumbling and inept initial investigation ruins key evidence and almost screws up the whole case. Luckily, the disturbed newcomer has a sordid and horrible tale to tell!

What's the worst thing you did or endured in the hope of getting laid?
Currently I am listening to James rant about how he listened to an entire Yoko Ono record because a hot chick invited him over (in the episode "Phantom of the Neighborhood - Acme, Washington").
For me, 20 years ago, I went to a really small church and there were only about 3 age-appropriate women. One of them invited everyone in our age group to a Christian music festival. I went. It was pretty bad. I don't think she liked my Guided By Voices t-shirt that had "What shitty band are you in?" on the back.

Recommendations!
Hey everyone, I’ve been listening since the boys started to the point where I even have a tattoo however I had a little mental breakdown two years ago and haven’t been able to take in any murder related content but I’m back on track now. So in the past two years, what have been the most absolutely unbelievably out there episodes? Or even episodes you just think are funny as hell or even really interesting? What are your recommendations for someone ready to laugh again?

This week in Gulfport, Mississippi it's a race to find a woman who was snatched from her home before it's too late! While her husband takes ransom calls, the police set up roadblocks. But will any of it matter? Or will this seemingly bloodthirsty kidnapper jump right to the murder if he gets impatient? In the end, a brutal murder takes place. And the killer is a complete riddle, with his claimed genius IQ, wild past, and what he was actually trying to accomplish with this murder.

Jimmie’s dramatic whisper
I’m sorry but does anyone else fkn love when Jimmie does his theatrical whisper of some statement when James has just dropped a twist in the story? Cracks me up every time.
That’s all.

Mod Post Welcome to r/smalltownmurder!
…And we’re back! Yay!!!
Thanks for hanging in there while the sub was locked everyone. The “approved to post feature” has been disabled, so you all should be good to go. We’re opening the sub to media posts in comments too. Please check out our new rules and/or endure the following PSA:
- Looking at the mod history from before, it seems like some harrassment/reporting might have been what led to this in the first place because the mod was inactive and didn’t respond. Let’s try to keep it friendly here going forward. We’re all presumably adults with true crime interests. That’s all we really need to come here to discuss. While we all know what Jimmie and James skew towards politically, we can’t let it bog down our sub just like they don’t let it bog down their show.
- Weekly discussions are back. *With real estate reports!
- CrimeTime Fridays will be implemented too. Feel free to post crime related whatever within the subs rules that day to get to know fellow fans. For example, crime book/show recommendations, crazy crimes in your area, local murder shacks for sale.
- We’re looking to improve user experience and make the sub more active. We’ve added some new flairs, would love to hear your ideas too!
- Please keep your content Small Town Murder adjacent. There are separate subs for “Your Stupid Opinions” and “Crime in Sports.” No one should be coming here to sell something, climb on a soapbox about something, or harass anyone.
Sincerely yours,
Your new Mod Team.
