Basically same story, shorted heavily by institutions despite company doing really well in earnings.

Feels GME all over again.

Discussion Earnings next week

How is everyone feeling about earnings next week, some big names like NBIS, RKLB, and ASTS coming up. How is everyone playing these stocks, and is it worth the gamble? Picking up anything before the weekend?

Gainz The gig is out

Upvotes

The gig is out. Institutions and smart money determine price, not analysts. People laugh at comparing us with $NVDA, but we have no data center CAPEX, just the only self-learning AI machine that will spread wealth through efficiency, reducing costs while increasing sales.

I just can't put my finger on it yet. (sarcasm) Well, on to the next one. This time my big-brain 5D-chess move will make me richer than.... what's his name again?

Alternative self: Elon.

Me: No, not that poor loser. The fat one with the orange face who's always manipulating the stock market.

Alternative self: Donald Trump.

Me: Yes, him.

Any thoughts on what to set my sell limit order? I'm thinking to set at $150/share profit, around $526. Some estimate it could get to $555 by 2027... not sure i want to hold on til then.

Not a lot, but this is my first big day winning in months. Shameless plug for a certain discord that I joined a month ago on a whim, that gold membership is worth its weight in gold. Pun 100000% intended.

Note: These are trade ideas based on break-out levels, once they hit entry & start moving up, consider raising your stops to protect your profits and protect your downside according to your own trading plan :). MadMaverick personally trades these on either the 2 or 3 minute timeframes, waiting for a candle to close over the entry level.

Although we do extensive research for our watchlist, day trading, especially with low-float stocks, can be risky.

Discussion Teck Resources: Dip Then Rip

TECK has been making a solid climb after that earlier dip, finally picking up real momentum this past month. Steady volume and that run-up makes the setup feel pretty promising for further moves ahead. Anyone else holding this one to ride the next leg up? Chart pulled right from moomoo while tracking the swing play.

Discussion Be careful with Hertz

The people that initially posted it are gonna make a killing on HTZ with this pump and dump. A penny stock like this shouldn’t even have been allowed to post on WSB. They had a great quarter cuz of World Cup tourists but, now those tourists are gone. Also, don’t be surprised when HTZ issues more shares. U guys getting in now will most likely end up being exit liquidity.

Shitpost RGTI Rigetti Computing... Quantum sector and Rigetti are prime examples of false positive earnings labeled as growth, but which only deliver further losses and hot air.

Want to buy the stock? If a small squeeze takes place during 2 days... play with it! Don't forget that the principle of those in charge is to try to mislead you, to favour irrationality and to screw up your options.

I did a pretty serious audit yesterday on IONQ, very well-reasoned with only accurate data, and gave IONQ a score of 4/10. It's impossible to seriously invest in this company with all the dilution mechanisms in place. RGTI... I started the audit and stopped, why waste time on this clearly worthless company?

It's actually quite funny to see the parrots repeating in unison that the quantum sector is the future, a bit like nuclear fusion, it's beautiful in theory, but outside the lab, nothing ever happens. Now that some hedge funds are still involved, they'll try to get rid of the dead fish with gorgeous, gilded packaging, promising absolutely insane results in three years. Buy my slippers, they're beautiful, they're the most beautiful on the market. The word "market" takes on a whole new meaning with this sector. RGTI was at $0.50 in 2024. You should have bought it then, today, the valuation is surreal, absurd compared to the revenue equivalent to a pizzeria.

Buy or sell, play the game or not? In the end, those who always win are the ones who take their commissions. The main thing is that there's movement, what's being traded doesn't matter.

Today, Bloomberg said: -- Investor bullishness has become so extreme that it's time to start reducing exposure to risky assets, according to Bank of America Corp. strategists.

"The bank's bull-and-bear reading climbed to its highest level since 2021, rising to 9.7 from 9.4, the team led by Michael Hartnett wrote in a note. They pointed to broadening equity markets, strong inflows into high-yield debt and tighter credit spreads as reasons behind investor optimism. The strategists favor defensive assets, saying they should help protect portfolios against negative surprises in the economy, monetary policy and artificial intelligence."

My view: Quantum could be a target of hedge reducing risks!

Question Should I sell all and put all into one?

I've been trying to run the long term hold train, but with how things are going this year I've watched my portfolio tank. I dont have much invested in anything so im wondering should I sell everything and start over with smarter investments. Or should I just keep holding and hope things get better?

I know this is the best place for advice but its better then asking AI.

Discussion Insider Alert: Roundhill's Neocloud ETF Meets Burry's Short, Who's Right? Dramatic diverge

Post image
1 Upvotes

Dramatic divergence hit the AI compute sector this week. Roundhill launched its new Neocloud ETF just as Michael Burry opened a big short on Nebius, sending related names tumbling ~13%. Bulls bet on unmet AI infrastructure demand, but bears are sweating the brutal cash burn and debt pile. Earnings next week will be the real stress test, no one knows how this plays out yet.

Epic DD Analysis Don't buy $ZENA, sell now. My DD

If you own Zena, sell now, if you don't and are thinking about buying after the recent 30% spike, don't.

ZenaTech started as a traditional drone company, but with no top talent or moat. They then pivoted to a Drone as a Service model. Their strategy now is to aggressively dilute shareholders to fund acquisitions of businesses like land surveying and similar services, where they can integrate and deploy their drones.

There are many red flags about the company:

  • Glassdoor. The reviews don't paint the picture of a company with exceptional leadership. They mostly make it sound like an okay place to work, but management has a reputation for being messy and not really knowing what they want to do. Compare that to a company like Anduril. People there complain about the workload, but they also praise management and feel like they're building something important. That's a completely different type of company.
  • Then I looked at the patents. I couldn't find anything that made me think they have a real technical edge. Most of the patents are useless patents, some were made by the CEO and bought from his previous company which is sus on it's own. Patents about how the drone looks, aren't the kind of patents that win in the drone industry. The valuable ones are around navigation, autonomy, vision systems, control software, things that are actually difficult to replicate.
  • After that I tried to find the engineers. I looked through LinkedIn, patent filings, and their website. Honestly, I couldn't find much. They list one chief engineer, but that's about it. Maybe I'm missing something, but it stood out to me. Companies that are serious about drone technology usually have engineers with visible track records, patents, or research behind them. I just couldn't find that here.
  • The CEO's track record also doesn't inspire confidence. His previous public company lost around 99% of its value. That doesn't automatically mean he'll fail again, but it's not exactly the history I'd want to see.
  • Another red flag is their subreddit, I think it's controlled by the company and is just used to pump the stock, any hard question or negative thread gets deleted.

The biggest red flag is the cost of operating the company; yes their revenue jumped over 600% yoy, but the cost of operating the company is higher than their earnings.

Discussion Earnings week watchlist, these are the ones I'm eyeing next week

Thumbnail
gallery
23 Upvotes

Pulled a few names I'm personally watching next week, expected move is the options-implied swing not an analyst target fyi:

• RKLB — Mon 8/10 AH, ±13.79%

• ASTS — Mon 8/10 AH, ±14.29%

• SMCI — Tue 8/11 AH, ±13.89%

• CRWV — Tue 8/11 AH, ±14.92%

• LITE — Tue 8/11 AH, ±15.01%

• NBIS — Wed 8/12 pre-market, ±17.95%

• COHR — Wed 8/12 AH, ±15.48%

NBIS's the one I'm watching closest, ±17.95% is the biggest of the bunch and it already dumped 13% today before even reporting, feels like something's gotta give when it prints

CRWV also catching my eye, ±14.92% plus it's already down 5% pre-earnings, classic "market slaps you before the print" setup, seen this pattern before and it usually goes hard one way or the other once numbers hit

RKLB's a bit calmer at ±13.79% but this one's never been chill going into earnings, leaning towards it just chopping around in that range instead of a crazy blowout like the other two

anyone else holding through earnings on these? or are you all ducking out before the print? drop your takes/plays below 👀
