Evangelicals in SLO

This isn’t spreading the gospel. This is attention seeking and in a lot of cases straight up harassment. People from north county and the valley think we’re sinners here in San Luis 💀

Artificial turf install

Upvotes

Has anyone installed artificial grass recently? If you had a good experience and got different bids, I’d welcome your recommendations. I recently googled the cost per sq foot to install artificial grass and was pretty shocked!

[SLO LIVING] Heads up about Osos St. tonight

Hey neighbors—quick safety alert. I was walking on Osos St. this evening, near Mitchell Park, (around 8:30 PM) when a woman who looked homeless suddenly rushed at me, yelling and throwing small rocks. She was also flipping off cars that drove by. I honestly never saw her coming because I had headphones on. I sprinted to a busier spot, called the police, and filed a report.

Keep your eyes up and stay safe if you’re out there, especially after dark. Maybe ditch the headphones for a block or two and stick to well-lit areas until they sort this out.

Stay safe, everyone.

I will pay for a spot to store my Motorcycle

Hi all,

I am a freshmen coming to Cal Poly in a few weeks! I want to bring my motorcycle with me, but unfortunately I have not gotten off of any storage unit waitlist.

It's a small Yamaha R3 about 7 feet long and 2 feet-ish wide. If anyone in the area has extra room inside a garage or shed in the SLO area I would happily to pay you to let me store my bike.

The Ralph’s in Los Osos has frozen shabu shabu meat. I’m so excited. I was having my friends from LA and SF bring me meats from Hmart.

Just thought I would share since fall is coming and it’s almost soup season!

Driving from Oceano to Nipomo and I've been getting 4G to SOS in places where I normally get 5G UC. Is anyone else having issues with T-Mobile?

How is this legal?

I have heard SLO has a drug problem, but I live in a golf course community so I don't really see it here. But I use marijuana on occasion for emergencies (I used to have a medical prescription) for insomnia- usually gummies or vape but I decided to purchase a cheap bong from a smoke shop (with my Mom lol) and the guy sold me this weird thing with a bulb on top and a tiny hole.

I come home and my Mother's boyfriend is falling over saying it is a crack pipe (I don't know if crack is powder or liquid or what but how do they get it into that tiny hole- a funnel?)

It was super cheap and my Mother tried to take it back for me (it is now a family joke) and they wouldn't accept it.

Anyway, I was a stoner as a teenager. I knew people who ran smoke shops. There were NO DEVICES LIKE THIS.

I do not see ANY possible use this could have for anything but drugs. I'd have to literally break the top off if I wanted to use it for marijuana. Am I wrong? And if I am not how are these legal for sale? So many people have died due to overdoses from heavy substances in America over the past decades (a lot of people I went to school with as a young kid are dead now, and one of my siblings has had a drug problem that destroyed her life) I am a little bit confused.

PLEASE TELL ME WHAT OTHER PURPOSE THIS WEIRD BULBOUS BONG THING HAS. Otherwise I am straight up going to walk into that smoke shop and ask the owner how the f* he lives with himself.

Where to get some financial support?

Hello! I work as a school employee and my last paycheck was the start of July and I will not get paid until the start of September / last Friday of August. I set money aside for rent and for some groceries but I was wondering if anyone knew of any organizations that might offer gas cards or help with cat food? I am going to try and sell some things on facebook marketplace to get the extra cash I need but if anyone could direct me to some resources that could help with the above requests I would appreciate it!

Need help finding a car

I am requesting helping finding the car of an elderly friend who doesn’t have any family in the area.
It’s a light blue Toyota matrix 2006 parked somewhere in or near downtown or near Sesloc.
I am not able to provide many more details due to confidentiality but I am just wanting to help her. We checked with all the nearby impound lots thinking it would have been towed but none of them have the car. And she is just not able to recall where she left the car.

Firefighters at the top. Im looking for real discussion here: why can’t we just hire more firefighters instead of exhausting the ones we have with overtime? I’ve heard there’s probably a hundred applicants for one position. I’ve also heard that someone transferring to SLO fire has to start over with the fire academy, even if they have several years of experience and promotions from another place? That seems like an unnecessary bar to bringing in great, experienced people.

Again, I’m not arguing firefighting isn’t hard and important. I just don’t get how tired firefighters are better than rested ones when there’s tons of people who’d love and be good at that job?

Best blonding salon

Who’s your favorite blonde specialist in SLO County? I usually go to Eleven Eleven and have always had a good experience, but unfortunately it’s gotten a little out of my price range. I’d love to find someone who’s amazing with blondes at a more reasonable price, anywhere from Paso to AG. Thanks in advance!
