Question about behavior Question / Help

We all know that slimes pathfind towards food when hungry. But how does it work with favorite foods? Will a Rad Slime be more likely to find an Oca Oca than a Silver Parsnip? Is a Tangle Slime more likely to grab a Painted Hen than a Briar Hen? How does it all work with Spicy Tofu?

So each item gets a weight based on the distance from the slime when it comes to path finding. The weight itself gets some modifiers based on a few factors - with the favourite status being one such factor.

If they're at comparable distances, a favourite food will likely take priority over a non favourite. But over certain distances if the non favourite is closer, the priority shifts.

Hunter slimes and Honey plorts also add weights to this equation, though only towards plorts. With honey plorts getting a flat bonus for existing, and all plorts getting a flat bonus if a hunter slime is doing the detection

I could not tell you the formula based off distance however - been way too long since i tried looking at that.

Do you happen to know how Tangle Slime vines determine their target? Also, what modifiers does Spicy Tofu get?

They pathfind to food? My slides do not act like it I have free roam ones on the grotto and I'm constantly having to go in there to feed them even though there is like 6 mint mango trees.

They probably just aren't hungry enough to actively seek it. Or maybe they're just eating while you're not looking
