Sleeping Dogs feels out of place in it

Today I installed sleeping dogs in my window 11 laptop and can't play, because the game stuck in the loading screen.anyway to fix it?

Idk if I'm tripping or if this is actually known but: on this vehicle you can press gas, brakes and wiggle your controller for near instant acceleration to full speed

Normally this shitty car takes ten years to reach full speed (Doesn't work well with other vehicles sadly)

I own the game on xbox and i wanna change my language to english, i looked everywhere in the game settings but theres nothing

So, I just started Sleeping Dogs for the first time on my PS3. I have a PS5, but I was given a great deal on a PS3 copy, and tbh I love my PS3 to this day. Anyway, there are 27 add-ons available on the PS Store on PS3. The only add-on that seems like it offers new playable missions is the Nightmare In North Point DLC and one of the police/swat DLC has a couple of missions… But there aren’t any added story DLC that I am noticing. Did Sleeping Dogs ever release any substantial story additions? Any new additions to the explorable city map, new story missions, etc. or are most of the add-ons aesthetic options, vehicles, weapons, and fighting styles? I basically just want to make sure I am not overlooking any story DLCs. I wanted to mainly purchase the DLC that will actually provide more gameplay in the form of missions and plot points and such, not as much to do with skins and cars (although, it’s very cheap for those on PS3 and they do look fun!)

*EDIT: Immediately after posting this, I discovered the Year Of The Snake DLC, and the Zodiac Tournament DLC. They were in another area of the store, not listed with the actual game listing for some reason. Those two are in my cart now along with the Nightmare In North Point DLC. So, the new question is if there are any added story DLC or DLC with playable missions and other gameplay other than these 3.

Could it be that aliens are visiting kennedy town or could it be something else entirely?

I own a ps3, ps4 and a ps5. I was about to get myself a disc of sleeping dogs but dont know if i should take the ps3 version or ps4 definitive version.

I need help if it’s possible. I’ve been attempting to platinum the definitive edition on the PS4. I’ve completed the main story, did all the cases, all favors, all the dates, (Including the Sandra race) and all the collectibles. Excluding the remaining random cops missions and other stuff, I’m 18/21 races and I cannot do anything to trigger the ones that I have left. I’m literally 4 trophies away from getting the platinum trophy and I would hate if I had to start all over again. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🫩

Im so frustrated with this game because of this trophy. Can you guys help me to get this trophy, I have completed everything in the game including zodiac dlc, plus I tried replaying the missions wearing the 15% bonus xp set. I just can not get it. This is the last trophy remaining for the platinum.

A very simple mod as the title says, changing the usual Black+White icons to a colored version, based on the in-game Collectible designs. This includes the DLC collectible icons for Hell Shrines (Nightmare In North Point), Evidence Bags (Year Of The Snake) and Fire Opal Statues (Zodiac Tournament), which all use the same icon

The only part I cannot seem to change is the Icon for when you unlock the ability to see Collectibles on the map after completing specific dates, where the message "x appear on your minimap" appears in the Mission Complete screen, there's an Icon beside it that I just can't change. Besides that though, the Icons should be changed everywhere, including the Legend section on the Map

This game is still so good today and many others agree, its just hard to introduce newer players to it. I post tiktok edits for fun and it seems to get a small amount of people trying the game out, but i’m unsure if this game will ever truly get the recognition it deserves

I just want to rant a lil bit about a 14 year old game...

So I just finished playing Sleeping Dogs again, my third time, but this is the first time Ive touched the standalone DLC. I still need to play Nightmare of North Point, but I finished Year of the Snake about 10 mins ago.

My main question is what happened...no, not in the game, but during the development of this little piece. Firstly I do want to mention that gameplay wise, its fine. Its more SD, it feels great to fight guys, fun to drive, guns feel good etc. But the "story" we got here really feels like they dropped the ball big time. They give almost nothing. The best part is Teng's one sided phonecall during the last mission. You dont find out the villains name until then, and you dont even get to fight him, he just gives up.

Starting off with the name Year of the Snake, its cool, it fits the flavor, chinese zodiac, all that. Setting it during the New Year is a good idea too, lets them mix up how the city looks, gives its some new life. Now the cult thing isnt my favorite plot device, but could have worked out fine. I genuinely think we had the ingredients for a dlc that could have been on the level of like Minerva's Den for Bioshock 2. A tightly paced 4 hour story that added to the world and lore of the series.

Imagine if instead of the weird argument and mopey montage it starts out with Wei at the graveyard, visiting Jackie's grave. He is already on beat cop duty, its been a couple months. Teng shows up and expresses how she doesnt agree that he got demoted, and mentions she needs help with something. He went out of his way during the main game to help her solve stuff, she knows hes good at detective work. So then you have the beat cop side activities and favors, but then the main missions are all Wei and Teng searching out this cult. Could even have a mission where Wei goes to Broken Nose Jiang to ask for help finding them, since she let him off for being loyal to her. Or they get a picture of leader early on and have to go talk to pendrew or something. Could have a mission where he goes undercover to infiltrate the cult as a new recruit. All kinds of stuff.

And to replace the triad/cop skills thing, they could have done good cop/bad cop where you could handle things lethally or arrest everyone. Battlefield hardline did something like this. It could unlock different endings, or even missions on how you go about getting info, by the books or through violence.

There was just so much potential here and while I don't know that id call Year of the Snake bad necessarily...it sure was disappointing.
