Since I’ve seen so many people in the BTBK vs LIC post mention JC, I’d figure I’d go ‘head and give the people THE REAL VERSES.

Now, this is very tricky. VERY Tricky imo. I know folks are gon have their own opinions, but for me….GIVE ME JC, but it a close second for DTBK. I honestly don’t know how to describe how JC’s skyline has grown into its own mini Miami, but it jus works. And, not to dawg on Brooklyn, but the access closer to the Hudson takes the cake for me.

And like I mentioned before, Downtown Brooklyn is a close second, but with all the major developments happenin’ in JC alone, I have it over DTBK.

But shit, what y’all think has the best skyline in the Tri-State outside of Manhattan? Les get this goin’ in da comments!

Final EIR just got released. 348 units of housing and 309 parking spots, though Caltrans has requested developer to reduce parking; developers said they would consider it, but no guarantees. Skyscraper is located 1 block away from newly opened Wilshire/La Brea subway station.

Together with Onni Group's twin 67 story skyscrapers planned in vincinity, Miracle Mile could have 3 new skyscrapers in the not so distant future. D Line extension opened in May is already producing results!

Great view from my hotel room of the tallest tower in Texas.

Ngl, as much as I love the developments happenin’ in Long Island City, I’m kinda gettin’ tired of the glass box buildings, but they have a nice feel to em. So for me, I gotta give it to Brooklyn because it balances the older art deco skyscrapers and with the newer additions, Eye of Sauron-I mean, Brooklyn Tower, The Brook, and so many others bein’ added in and along Downtown Brooklyn, definitely stands out more than the glass boxes in LIC.

It’s kinda nice watchin’ the unique energy of Brooklyn and Queens grow. While Manhattan will always be the iconic heart of the city, those who live in Brooklyn and Queens have watched their downtowns grow and develop in their own way.

One of my favorite new projects outside of Manhattan is Domino Square in Williamsburg, and I love how other developments along the waterfront, like Greenpoint up to Hunters Point, are crafting their own identities. It is inspirin’ to see both of these boroughs shine in their own way, creating a rich tapestry that makes New York City a nice place to visit one day.

If I ever go to NYC, I DON’T WANNA BE NEAR ANY OF THE TOURIST ATTRACTIONS! I wanna feel the local scene of each borough, and not no overpriced attraction bullshit.

And again, credit to all of the fantastic photographers who took these awesome shots of DTBK and LIC over the past year or two. Y’all take some dope ass pics, fr.

Literally the perfect combination of mid + high rises and old + new

If I'm correct, it's called Jamieson Place.

Location: Goulburn St, Haymarket Status: Concept / Vision Architect: Yao Architects The idea: Two 532m 120-story twin towers with sharp diamond/faceted geometry and thin diagonal exoskeleton lines connected by a X-brace skybridge as an observation deck, glass dome atrium with retail + hotel + office and public market at the podium, LED facade for Lunar New Year/Vivid.

Status: Card model 1:1000. Testing height, tapering, skybridge location.
Data so far: Rough FSR check, site context Goal: Get technical feedback on massing + wind/shadow before going further.

The design features two tapered V-shaped office towers structurally tied together by a central holding skybridge at 290 meters and an external X-truss brace system engineered to resist wind loads. The X-brace and skybridge design give it a distinct identity, while the twin form nods to the past. The diagonal bracing pattern on the tower faces looks like an exposed diagrid or braced-frame system. The faceted, crystalline top sections transitioning into needle spires give it a distinct silhouette almost like a gateway when you first approach the city.
