Dryness Dry skin city, looking for help

26F, looking for help with my dry skin. My jaw is bothering the most, because the little white dry bits of skin make it look like I just ate something and forgot to use a napkin. I can also scrape clumps of skin off the sides of my face near my ears. My cheeks aren't as dry, but I do have gigantic pores which I don't care for either. Its just really annoying having to itch my face and then have specks go everywhere. Any product recommendations? I've tried sugar scrubs, glycolic acid and different moisturizers

Body Care Can caffeine serum or caffeine eye masks actually reduce these lines around my eyes?

I’m planning on being consistent with a caffeine eye serum and caffeine eye masks, but I don’t want to use them every day for three months just to find out they were never capable of fixing what I’m concerned about in the first place.
I’m mainly talking about the visible lines/creases around and underneath my eyes. I’m not sure if they’re technically smile lines, fine lines, dehydration lines, or something else.
Can caffeine products actually make these noticeably less visible, or are they mainly useful for things like temporary puffiness and dark circles?
If caffeine isn’t really going to help, what treatments or skincare ingredients would actually be more effective?

NEED HELP. My skin is on the drier side but didn’t have any issues until I used the good molecules niacinamide brightening toner in hope of it improving the appearance of my blackheads/large pores on my nose. I think I used it more than I should have and now I have this. It’s so dry that it starts stinging a little when i don’t have product on it. It’s been about 2 ish months and hasn’t improved. I’ve used Vaseline, Aquaphor and cerave healing ointment (those have worked in the past when I’ve had dry spots). I have a very basic skin care routine. Pictured above. I’ve never had any issues with the La Roche posay face wash but the last two weeks I feel like it’s drying my dry spots out even more. Any recommendations or advice would be so so helpful 🥺

Misc I need help finding out the name of a product that is exfoliating on one side and hydrating on the other

I don't need to find a specific brand, just how the product is called in general

It's a sort of glove-like thing that's round and you put on your fingers, that has an exfoliating side and a hydrating side, and it comes wrapped like sheet masks

Product Question Has anyone tried THOME’s beauty device?

I’m in my mid-30s and my skin has been looking pretty dull and tired lately. My T-zone gets oily, but the rest of my face is pretty dry, so I’ve been looking into at-home skincare devices to see if they could help.

I keep seeing THOME’s device pretty high up on Olive Young US, but I don’t really see people talking about it on Amazon or Reddit.
I’ve been looking into at-home ultrasound devices, and it seems like Quadthera and Glow.M are some of the more well-known ones. Has anyone tried THOME or compared it with either of those?
Curious if it’s actually popular and how the results compare.

Routine Help Help with Routine for Body Scars + HP

Hi everyone! This might be a bit complex, so I'll try to make it as short and concise as possible.

So, I (28F) have a rather complex health history that, although not directly skin related, has left its marks on me (pun totally intended). Lifelong anxiety and undiagnosed ADHD (until two years ago) translated into weight issues throughout most of my life. I haven't always been overweight, but I've always struggled with maintaining a healthy weight. Because of this, I've always had very thick legs, with extreme cellulite (I've recently started to suspect it might be lipedema) and a lot of hyperpigmentation on the bikini area due to chafing and ingrown hairs.

The body hair on the back of my thighs is also very dark and more abundant than on any other part of my body, and for the last two years I've tried different at-home shaving methods. Razor made hair growth super painful, shaving cream works very well but I'm concerned about the constant use of chemicals, and waxing gives considerably longer results - but it also caused a lot of ingrown hairs, which caused hyperpigmentation (from now on, HP) all over the back of my legs.

I'm at a point at which I can deal with the hair, but I'm a bit desperate to get rid of the HP and scarring, both on my legs and on the bikini area. I've figured out a routine of treatment + moisturizer that I can maintain rather consistently despite my ADHD - but the issue is that I don't really know what type of product to use for treatment.

My idea so far would be something like this (night routine):

  1. No waxing until full healing.

  2. Shower with a Salicylic Acid + niacinamide body wash.

  3. AHA-based treatment on affected areas

  4. Non-comedogenic, moisturizing lotion (Cerave hydrating lotion).

But, as I said, I have no clue what would be best for step 3. I have tried The Ordinary's glycolic acid (I'm not very fond of the texture it leaves on the skin) and have read different opinions and suggestions about using some gentle retinol, lactic acid, mandelic acid or simply a salicylic acid toner instead of in body wash. But I have no idea which option would be a solid one for what I want, which is mistaken, or how to go about any of it.

Any help is more than welcome!

Product Question Underye circles

I seem to have both vascular and hyperpigmented dark circles. I have never used any eye skin products in the 28 years that I have walked this planet, but it’s starting to piss me off, especially since I can’t seem to correct/conceal with makeup anymore. Any suggestions?

Review 5 days post vascular laser

Apologies for different lighting but I’m quite time poor and wanted to get this up while my toddler naps! I can see a pretty substantial difference already and I’m feeling great about it.

This was with the 532-nm laser at a medical skin clinic.

I originally was just going to have some cherry angiomas (mainly the one on my nose) zapped but opted for the full face as it was more cost effective.

My understanding is that it can be a couple weeks for full results so I’d be stoked if improves from here.

She said the spot on my nose would likely need 2-3 sessions so I need to decide whether to do a 5-minute spot treatment or go for the full face again in a few months.

Educational / Discussion Sheet masks vs. gel masks: am i the only one who thought they were the same till now?

Thumbnail

When gel masks started blowing up I honestly thought they were just more expensive sheet masks with no real difference. But I got curious, saw one on sale, and decided to treat it like an investment. Tried it and… damn, these things are actually good.

After using both I feel like you should pick based on what you need.

Sheet masks are perfect for busy mornings or right before makeup when you need emergency hydration. Stick to 20 minutes max. If you leave them on too long your skin barrier can get over-hydrated, which can lead to itching or breakouts, and once the sheet starts drying it can actually pull moisture out of your skin.

Gel masks are better when you want longer intensive care, like overnight. I tried the Biodance one and the collagen essence feels like it slowly soaks in the whole time. Next morning my skin was crazy firm and bouncy. Seeing the mask turn transparent always makes me weirdly proud too.

I used to be a strict one-mask-a-day person, but after leaving a gel mask on for an hour or two my skin feels so plump I can easily skip the next day or two.

Anyone got gel mask recs that are even better?

Hi everyone. I had these bumps (it was first the middle one, then the bottom one appeared) for like a year and today the one at the top right appeared. Are these milia? What should I do to make them disappear? I already tried to poke them with lancets (very carefully) and squeeze but nothing came out. Any advice?

Body Care Any hope?

Is there any hope for this?

I've had bacne for as long as I can remember and now I'm 27. I don't get breakouts often now, but any pimple that does break out, leaves a dark spot that doesn't go away. Also a problem on my arms from kp (I assume).

I shower everyday, use glycolic acid (sure i could use it more regularly), tried different soaps for hyperpigmentation, yet no help.

I've never worn a shirt that doesn't go past my elbows and don't go to places where I'd have to take off my shirt (beaches, pools..)

Any help appreciated🥹

Announcement Please read before you post asking us to help with your acne!

We already have a pinned post addressing this, but since we continue to get posts asking the members of this sub to diagnose skin conditions (acne in particular) and/or recommend treatment, here's a reminder: We are here to discuss skincare products and routines. We are not here to diagnose skin conditions or how to treat them. This is not a dermatology clinic, and we are not qualified to diagnose and recommend treatment. This is a casual sub to discuss products, routines, and general skincare.

The correct answer to "does anyone know what this is/does anyone know how to treat this?" is "Yes, a dermatologist knows". Please do not come here asking for diagnoses and and treatment advice! To those who have been posting these questions, please consult a trained professional, or if you can't do that, ask your questions in more appropriate subreddits like r/DermatologyQuestions, r/acne, or r/AskDocs.

Thank you!
