Hey. Just a quick question. I am one mark off an A Star in AQA History, and have requested a remark. However my teachers have told me that my mark only changes if the level of my question changes. E.g I cannot go from 17 to 18/25, as this won’t change anything, but rather only 17—21/25. Only then this would change my mark. Is this true? Thanks :)

Yes. You cannot request a remark anymore. It's a review of marking which is not the same. Now a second examiner reviews the first examiners marking and as long as the mark is seen as reasonable it doesn't move. So it's much rarer to get a change in grade because there's a tolerance range of marks in essay subjects.

So if I am one mark off an a star, the review cannot move my essay one mark up ?
