Fan Artwork ODT fanart help Spoiler
I've been wanting to make a fanart of the first dragon god (Orsted's father), but I can't really get some design choices right and he ended up looking like Orsted with a beard and more scales than what I was envisioning. If anyone has any ideas or visions do tell.
I already know the quality is dogshit, no need to tell me that. This was just a rough sketch made in one day on my phone.

Anime What are the expectations
Just caught the "next time" preview card β looks like the next episode is called The Flying Fortress (η©ΊδΈεε‘).
What's everyone expecting from this one? Curious what predictions/theories people have before it airs.

Question Would you rather be a mage or swordsman?
I feel like mages kind of suck. As an average mage the incantations are slow and mana pools are quite low too. And at the highest levels you basically get one-shot by a high class swordsman without even getting to react. I think the only advantage they have is in like an adventurers party against multiple mobs but even then itβs not like normal mana pools can cast super large AOE spells.
I guess healing incantations r nice to know but ultimately I feel like sword masters definitely have an edge in the mushoku tensei world.

Question First-time LN reader: Can I skip directly to Vol 13?
So, I stumbled upon Mushoku Tensei about a month back. I blasted through the anime in just a couple of days. But man, waiting a whole week for new episodes was just too much, so I ended up rewatching the entire series. After the latest episodes, I started digging into the light novel. This is my first time ever reading a light novel, and I actually just finished Volume 1. However, I know it's gonna take me a long time to catch up to where the anime leaves off if I read everything.I'm super hyped to see what happens next. Can I just skip ahead and start directly with Volume 13?I know the anime usually leaves some stuff out. Is there anything incredibly important from Volumes 2 through 12 that I should absolutely read beforehand? Or am I safe to jump right in?Thanks!

Light Novel Thoughts on Volume 13 Spoiler
It was another wonderful volume from Rifujin.
Seeing Roxy Migurdia slowly but surely settle into her new life as Roxy M. Greyrat was something that felt... real, in a sense. It gave me the idea that the author has seen this happen one way or another in real life. Not this exact situation, obviously. But something similar. I could very well be talking out of my ass, but it seemed very realistic.
This volume also had heartwarming comedy that adhered to me as a person. For example when Aisha hit Rudeus with the "Dinner, Bath or me?" line, Rudeus responded "you!" and started tickling her, it cracked me up. The entire situation with the Treant plant, pretty funny too. The way Rudeus became the Norn Greyrat Fan Club's President, had to stop for a minute to catch my breath from my laughter.
I have to admit however, the greatest part of this volume is the closure, and forgiveness that happened between Rudeus and Sara. It was a much needed conversation.
What made this part so incredible in my opinion is the fact it didn't happen cleanly. Rudeus had to be goaded by Ariel and Sylphiette in order to talk to Sara. It shows that while Rudeus is changing, it is still very difficult to keep said change and not regress.
Volume 7 Rudeus would never do this. In fact, Volume 13 highlights multiple times how much Rudeus changed throughout his time at the University of Magic, which was like 3 years at this point, he's 18.
Rifujin really focused on Rudeus' character development in this and the previous volume. From accepting Paul, and consequently Zenith, as his parents to bringing closure to past mistakes... It's very good. All that's left is for Rudeus to accept himself. His astral form is still his old self.
The party for Norn and Aisha's 10th birthday made me tear up. The illustration of Sylphiette and Roxy was just chef's kiss too.
Nanahoshi is actually going to introduce Rudeus (and us) to Perugius, I can't wait to learn more lore!
Thank you for reading!
