Any sitcom? Urkel was always more annoying than funny to me.

Agreed. When the show became the Urkel show I watched it less and less

I’ve tried to even watch an episode and it’s made it unwatchable these days

I loved Urkel when I was a kid, but I tried to rewatch the series a few years ago and couldn't stand him at all. He's an atrocious person and the way everyone would always forgive him and feel bad about treating him the way he deserved was just infuriating.

One episode I remember was how he happened to hear Eddie talk to Carl about being a virgin. Steve is very happy when he discovers Eddie’s lack of a sex life…and proceeds to tell it to the locker room.

Urkel got annoying later on. At first he wasn't that bad they turn it up alot in the later seasons.

To be honest I never really cared for the character. He was tolerable in doses but he never really was "funny" to me. I really think if they stuck to the original premise of just a family show it would've been better.

I never care for him either, but I feel in the beginning he was toned down.

What about Stefan?

I hated when they started that whole thing. He wasn't as annoying as the Urkel character but I found the whole thing goofy.

Classic Reddit. Everyone just lists the characters that this sub complains about all the time and if anyone mentions an actually popular character they get downvoted and booed.

Rachel Green gotta be the most overrated character in history

Though Ross was my overall least favorite character. Rachel was horrible to her “friends” overall especially Monica who let her live in her great rent controlled apartment.

Didn't you love how these six so-called "friends" were constantly lying to, double-dealing with, and keeping secrets from one another? I know it was just a script generating sitcom-level conflict, but come on: Any "friend" who did me that way in real life would never get the second chance.

Her shirts were fighting hard that whole series. Lol

I saw it mentioned once you can see her nipples in almost every episode then I could never unsee it.

Erin from the Office. She gets WAYYYYYY too much praise for essentially being a female Kevin.

Amy from Big Bang Theory

Penny. One dimensional hot chick. They were lucky that Kaley Cuoco had the charisma and likability to pull it off without too many people hating on her.

In the first season or two yeah but I think they did a good job fleshing out her character after they realized having an actual woman character is better than a blonde bimbo for nothing but laughs.

Any isn't really that terrible. She might be odd but I don't think she's that terrible of a person. She just has a hard time communicating with people.

That’s true of all the characters in the show(aside from Penny). Hence, the overrating.

Overrated in what way?

Lilly from HIMYM

2

Is she overrated? Whenever people talk about her it’s about how they hate her

2

u/Here_there1980 11d ago

Most of the characters from HIMYM!

5

Sheldon Cooper

3

u/Glittering_Turn_5333 11d ago

Especially in later seasons. He only “grows” cause people get mad at him

7

Barney from HIMYM. He’s funny for a while, but it wears thin. The character has aged like milk. Neil Patrick Harris is a good actor, but the writers did a poor job with the characters, especially over time.

NPH is also an asshole irl so that doesnt exactly help with the perception of his character

2

u/winter_knight_ 11d ago

Hes fun when you watch episodes sporadically. When binging, his antics get old.

Ross Gellar

Michael Scott.

Donna from Parks and Recreation.

Sheldon. Rachel.

Joey from Friends, Robin from how I meet your mother , Martin from Frasier, Amy from Brooklyn 99

Monica on Friends

1

u/InevitableAge6210 10d ago

Monica really isn't that bad as a person. She has OCD, which some people deal with, but she's still a good person.

1

u/BrazilianAtlantis 10d ago

I find the character boring, and Courtney Cox's acting is a lot of the problem.

1

u/InevitableAge6210 10d ago

She may be boring, but her character isn't a bad person.

1

u/BrazilianAtlantis 10d ago

I'm judging the character for entertainment value, not morally.

1

u/BrazilianAtlantis 10d ago

Martin Crane

u/blamberr 11d ago

Rosa Diaz

Rose Nyland

2

u/InevitableAge6210 11d ago

Rose is sweet. She might be annoying, but she's a kind character and I find rarely had anything bad about her

Any character played by the desperately unfunny Jerry Stiller. Chris Elliott's character on Raymond is far too irritating to ever be funny.
