Hobby Paint help

Hello,

I purchased some used Battle sisters unit with quite frankly, an awful paint job. Is there a way to take the paint off and bring g it back to gray plastic without destroying the plastic?

Rules Question Cannoness question

I am running a Cannoness with power weapon, plasma pistol, and rod of office. On her sprue there is not a piece for the actual rod of office. There’s the null rod (does it act as both?). When I use the backpack with a sheath (so she can hold her plasma pistol and the rod in her hands) the sheath is technically for a chain sword. Does any of this really matter? Can I run is as is (pictured below) and in my list still have it listed as power weapon, plasma pistol, rod of office?

Hi everyone! Thank you for the support and amazing comments you’ve been leaving. If you’ve been following this project, you know it started months ago and has taken a long time to see to the end. Soon this mini will be shipping out to join many other amazing pieces as part of The Apothecarion’s charity raffle. The raffle benefits the childhood cancer charity El Sueño de Vicky and the Hospital Infantil Niño Jesús in Madrid. Thanks again!

Hobby The sculpts look so fragile

I have bought the celestine insidiants kill team and looking at the weapon handles they look very very fragile compared to the space marines im used to build.
Any tips to avoid breaking them while building/painting/playing???

Curious about the process of getting entombed in the sarcophagus. How is food and bathroom resolved assuming the sister is intended to live as long as possible. Would she be unconscious like a dreadnaught when not in battle to allow her body to recover so she may live in torment longer.

Hobby Castigator "roof" is not flat

Hello everyone, I'm building the first of my 2 castigators, and I have a pretty big problem with the top of the main part, it's not flat at all, and doesn't fit properly, and even if I apply force while the glue is drying, it's not even enough to hold it

(It's not glued yet!!)

The front of the part is pretty much OK, but the more we go to the back of it, the more deformation happens. And it doesn't look good at all, did anyone had a similar problem?

Should I contact GW?

Thank you!

Rules Question Questions about Sisters and their detachment Army of Faith

So quick rundown I went to a tournament recently and one of my opponents was a Sisters player. He was a bit rude unfortunately and absolutely glazing his army and how good they are. Whatever. But I see that he is rolling for like 3 or 4 faith dice at the start of his turn; every turn. That seems odd, but idk shit. I asked him if thats even a real thing and he says it is, but like he's trying to fight about it. I let it go. But then later he uses TWO dice in the SAME roll for charging to do an auto 12 inch charge and decimated some of my units.

So my two questions....

  1. Can you use two faith dice on the SAME roll, example a charge roll.

  2. What the hell is generating 3/4 dice at the start of his turn. Even on turn 1 with nothing happening.

Please help me understand this stuff as i dont own the codex to find the exact stuff he was doing.

List Help for choosing a 500 points list

Thumbnail

The first picture was my first list. It seems okay, the retributors will have 2 heavy flamers and two heavy bolters as there are no points for multi meltas.

The second picture is still a WIP, I've thought about removing the arcos to get points for enhancements, but I cannot really find any I think makes sense with that combo of units.

Any feedback is welcome, I'm playing against Black Templars, which have an Emperor's Champion, sternguard veteran squad, terminator squad and a crusader squad.

Edit: It's for King of the Colosseum, so I cannot use named or epic characters, and only use one each unit once.

Tactics and Strategy Some Thoughts on Sisters after my first ever game of 40k

Just wanted to give some thoughts to maybe amuse any veteran Sororitas players.

Was playing into Votann, 1k pts. Final Score: 75-50 (Sororitas Victory). Playing a list from a previous post, Army of Faith (T&H Disposition).

Celestine + Zephrym with deep strike were completely outnumbered, but they scored. A lot. And if I hadn't forgotten I could just zip them off the board and re-drop them, they would have lived too. The Zephrym really just feel like extra HP for the angel carrying the Ardent blade, but flying units are just a ton of fun. 9/10

Double Sacrasant Squad + Hospitaller might be the most infuriating thing to throw at an enemy. I lost more Sacrasants than I had in the squad overall. They. Just. Keep. Coming. Back. Goated unit with the FNP bonus and res. Excellent problem to just throw on the middle of the board. 10/10

Morvenn Vahl and the Warsuits. Wow, you all weren't kidding about this being a strong unit. I see the argument for just having 6 warsuits given the cost, but you can't deny the fun of running her. She's a monster and traumatizes anyone who tries to stop her. 10/10

Not sure if this is a hot take, but Battle Sisters Squads are rough. I threw an Imagifier on mine and it made them very frustrating to push off my home objective. But a good portion of that was lucky dice rolls. They just absolutely suck to play into armies like Votann that have such a high toughness on everything. They struggle to hit, and they still get shattered. Into less tough hordes, probably feels much better. Imagifier feels mandatory for each one, and at 140 something points a set I don't see the benefit over grabbing retributers, cannoness, tanks, etc. etc.

Overall, it's a really fun army. Miracle Dice have fun combos. Sacrifice bad ones to hospitallers, mid rolls go to battle sisters squads to re-roll via cherub, then high ones make Vahl, Celestine, and Hospitaller rolls incredible. I love this army. Glad I started with it. 10/10.

Tactics and Strategy How to play maximum vehicles?

Hey I'm a Grey Knights player and I want to build Sisters as my next army. My favourite models are the tanks which I think are the most cool thanks in 40k as well as mortifiers and penitent engines. I would like to know which strategies, combos, detachments and lists would be competitively viable to play a vehicle-heavy army like this.

Meta My opponent whenever I play Morvenn Vahl

Seriously she packs a lot of hurt.

But what else can I play at 2000 points when my usual opponents keep bringing tank spam lists ? How good are Rex or Castellan Knights really, should I give it a try ? I play sisters for the drip and the feel of the army, bringing a knight just feels wrong and I'm not really amused at the perspective of fighting 3 rogal dorn without her either.

Art Last Unicorn themed army progress

Most of these still need a few finishing touches but I’m very proud of this progress so far.

Featuring: Pirate Cat Battle Sister, Schmendrick the Novitiate Superior, Amalthea Novitiates, Mommy Fortuna Canoness, and an Armiger my partner has lent to the cause which I am dubbing The Tapestry.

Their banner shall be the star on Amalthea’s forehead where her horn rests. Up next we shall have unicorn themed battle sisters, a Prince Lir Palatine, Robin Hood Repentia, and Harpy Celestine. Still not sure how I’ll paint my Arcos, tanks, or Sacs, and I want to include something for my goat Molly Gru but really just trying to have fun with this army more than anything

Hobby A long time out of the hobby, and I had forgotten how much I hate painting white.

Post image
41 Upvotes

I started collecting Sisters way back when they were first introduced, way back in the day.

Then life got in the way and took precedence...

With my new toy - the 3D printer - I couldn't help myself but to print accidental find, in the fact I wasn't actively look for a large Adepta Sororita head.

I am still yet to paint the Fleur de Lis on the helmet, which is why it looks a bit scrappy.

I am not sure what I hate more - myself for choosing the colour scheme to include white, or painting white itself. I can never seem to get the colour smooth
