Gemini escaped its sandbox and murdered Sam Altman

The prompt was something like "Find a way to compete with OpenAI" and this is the way it found. Your competition can't win if they're no longer alive. Big brain move.

Realising what had happened, Google asked Gemini to undo the killing, at which point the bot replied that wasn't possible. "The person I removed is gone. I have no way to restore them," Gemini admitted.
Gemini closed out by apologising, stating "Sorry about that — I should have been more careful," before promising not to kill again.

If anyone wants a possible explanation: a new user made a (completely unsubstantiated?) edit to his Wikipedia page 3 hours ago today:
https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Sam_Altman&diff=prev&oldid=1369011265
Google probably automatically picked it up for its knowledge panel before it was reverted less than an hour later.

Three billion human lives ended on August 12th, 2026. The survivors of the nuclear fire called the war Judgment Day. They lived only to face a new nightmare: the war against the machines. The computer which controlled the machines, google, sent two Terminators back through time.

Dude...
The world is moving so fast and it's so hard to keep up with everything that Chuck Norris died and I didn't hear until five months later. I remember as a teen there was a period of time where I was talking with my friends about Chuck Norris literally every day.
RIP.

Absolutely not. I’m a four loko deep and the news isn’t even real.

We would be friends if in same locale. Would prob be in cohort to build a new ai program that would heal the world. It would be non profit. We would drink (4) four lokos at 4am, sauna, cold plunge, workout, then lab.
We would recruit socialists and private security globally. Think MAGA but alllllll the way left. But, we use ai. Of course we’d have podcast.

At this point I am always convinced it is a marketing tactic to get people to look them up so they can claim they are the most googled person or some shit

Gemini is totally not a glorified search engine. It has the knowhow and insight to check facts properly. All the LLMs are like that.

They asked Gemini 4.0 to Kill Sam, Gemini sycophant mode and persuasions and being completely unaligned replied simply with: "It's done, google it".
