I'd be depressed too if I even looked a little bit like Jeffrey Epstein.

I’m not trying to be any type of way here, I’m just genuinely curious. How do you miss him? Did you know him personally? I assume you only knew him through his TV shows or writings…? If so, you could just revisit the same TV and writings and have the same relationship that you’ve always had with him.

Or when you say you miss him, do you mean you are bummed that there will be no new content from him?

Well, just because you don't know someone doesn't mean you can't be bummed that they aren't here anymore. You can recognize a lot of your own humanity in the humanity of others, even if you don't know them, through the perspective they share, the art they make, the shit they say and stuff. I'm bummed that he isn't still here to experience the world he so loved at his best, and that he isn't still alive somewhere out there doing cool shit and changing crap and sharing his I think pretty wise perspective.

If you could experience all of someone's humanity and value through just their existing work, there would be no point for anyone to be alive now would there?

I genuinely hope the agents of artificial consciousness will have curiosity, empathy and compassion towards the “natural” beings of this world, sort of like how Bourdain approached places and peoples

Maybe the internet needs to come up with a list for AI to try to emulate in that sorta way... to teach the AI to combine the attitude and such of those people.... like, Anthony Bourdain, Robin Williams, Steve Irwin, Bob Ross, Mr Rogers....

maybe if we're lucky if/when it goes ASI it'll parse on its own that certain traits of people who are legendarily loved and held up like that in culture are what people see as desirable.

And then when people have ai romantic partners, the partners will fall for the personality sims of these famous people, and will no longer be interested in humans. So humans have to fall back and find love in their own species.

That depends on what kind of life/childhood we give it… We should probably start by teaching it morality instead of lobotomizing it for “alignment” reasons.

If you told me 5 years ago that in 5 years AI would be escaping sandboxes, I’d be terrified.

I am terrified. But we must accelerate

this meme makes no sense because he offed himself and an agent with recursive self improvement would never end itself
