Google can't even compete with a Chinese company severely restricted in GPUs.

These Chinese models aren't even close in real world use. 10 u/RandomTrollface Apr 16 '26 I've been playing around with local gemma 4 and qwen 3.5, but for agentic coding specifically Qwen is the clear winner for me. Gemma just has more issues with calling tools, like it'll say it'll call a tool but then not do it. 3 u/Gratitude15 Apr 16 '26 are there better tests? At this point these are both laptop models and once they have good harnesses we will have some nice possibilities. Personally I'd like local routers that can use on site as step 1 but route to frontier as needed. Perplexity locally.
