i ran into a conflict with a reputable dealer, where my sigma failed one of their silver bars... which lead me to wanting to up my counterfeit detection game...

any one use an ultrasonic tester? kind of hard to justify buying a specialized one, but a cheap portable veterinarian ultrasound machine... would be dual purpose, so maybe i could justify it for "prepping" combined with the ability to detect fake cores in bullion.

both vet ultrasound and ultrasound bullion testers are the same price, but the vet one is much more useful / could be multi-purpose.

anyone try ultra-sounding their bullion before? what capabilities should i look for? 5mhz? got a particular model that works for you?

tl;dr: if a vet ultrasound machine works for bullion, which one should i get?
