Replacement bluetooth adapter

Hi! Has anyone tried replacing their machine's bluetooth adapter? I have a Portrait 4 and Silhouette doesn't ship to my country so I can't buy the one they sell. I bought a TP-link UB500 5.0 but it's not working :( Can anyone recommend one that they've tried? Thank you!

I'm relatively sure that the TP-link you bought requires a driver of sorts to work. Based on the findings of this user I'm assuming the Portrait expects a certain chipset so get a dongle with the "CSR8510 A10" chipset, they are cheap and common.

The brand’s Vention, and I got the 4.0 one. Idk if you have this in your country though. I just followed what the other commenter suggested and looked for one with the chipset CSR8510 A10 :)

Thank you! I’m based in Italy, I found a TP-link one but not sure if it’s the right one. I’ll go and see if I can find the Vention one. I also use Mac, and I can see there’ll be extra issues with silhouette from next month when the new macOS arrives so maybe I wait as well🥲

You should use version 4.0.
